Have you ever snapped in the heat of the moment?

Contributor: PassionateLover2 PassionateLover2
In the course of your daily work, have you ever been so upset that you uncontrollably talked back to your boss or co-worker? Another words, did you snap in the heat of the moment which had put your reputation (and maybe your job) in jeopardy?

I tend to snap at people right before and during my period. It's mostly to my boyfriend though, he knows and can take it.

Yes I have. Not the boss. But the supervisor. It wasn't good at the time. But fine now.

No, never. I am not the angry type, and can control it when I am frustrated.

Me either, I am a rather mighty calm one with probably too much self-control, saying it because it means that sometimes I can relax harder than others, my mind going with a thousand miles per second! ^^

I had a customer totally go off on me about another job i was doing for someone else. When they attacked my common sense and it got personal, I lost it and told them to get the fuck out of my business and to never come back.

I don't like my employer at all. I'm only there until I can get a better job after I move. I'm only keeping my job now because the banks are requiring us to both have had our jobs for at least 2 years before we can buy a house. My bosses treat me like the bad guy and are often belittling me. I am told constantly that I should be fired and that I am a terrible person and that my coworkers all hate me, even though none of that is true. One person in particular has repeatedly made me cry at work. I come close to telling them off pretty much every week, however I have to stick with this place so I can better my life by moving to a big city where I can find work within my intended career.

Many times. I'm a very irritable person, especially when my mood is a certain way. I've told many bosses they were wrong and that I refused to do what they were telling me to do. I cursed out one of my coworkers in front of clients once. I once told a manager that they were running the business in an unethical way and that I had to sleep at night and would not be following their business plan. I also have panic attacks when people stand behind me which very few of my managers have ever seemed to care about. One walked in when I was with a client and just did it. I snapped really bad and started yelling and crying at the same time. It was awkward. How I hold down jobs surprises me.

I've only worked one job in my life and I was the manager so the only people I had over me were the owners and they left me alone because they couldn't run their own store.

Oh yes!

I had a roommate from hell. Mostly she was ungrateful, sloppy, never help pay for things, ate our food, used our cleaning stuff, and broke things just because she was "bored." She was never there, but when she was, she made messes. She also had horrendously gaudy decorations.

We started taking some of them down. One of them being a big, metal screen that had mirrors on it. It took up a huge chunk of our small living room (and the mirrors had rust behind them).

When she found out, she comes barreling into the apartment cursing me out, saying I should be grateful for her furniture (the landlord would have provided us furniture if she didn't, no cost). I also was a bit buzzed, so I wasn't completely there. But boy, did my hand warm up in temptation. I wanted to hit her. Hard.

But it's okay. I took pictures of all the damages she caused, went to the landlord with another roommate, and made sure her security deposit is getting deducted, not ours. Karma's a bitch!

My newest boss at the time made an offhand comment about me, as if he had known me and we were friends. I turned around and completely on reflex told him to go fuck himself, it just happened to be in front of the vice president of our office. We talked it out, ultimately I got promoted, but it could have been really bad.

Last night I stabbed a cucumber I was cutting because hubby was irritating me. He was standing over top of me telling me how to do things the "better" way. I can't stand this. Get away from me!!! Let me be! I have snapped at many people. I'm irritable.

It all depends on what you consider talking back. I speak my mind all day, its just who I am. But I have never snapped. I walk away long before that happens.

This could be the most difficult situation to deal with. This was a perspective I didn't consider when asking the question. Thanks for pointing this out.

yes. only once at my first job (but i wasnt there for too long) and so far only once during this job, and that was 2 days ago ha!

neither put my job in jeopardy, though. i can't be fired from the job i have now and nobody had been fired from the job i had before for 5 years. haha

I don't think I'm emotionally invested in my job enough to snap at anyone. As long as they pay me and I get to leave on time, I don't care how they use my time.

No, but I've come VERY close. I probably should have let fly on a few of the nasty old hags I used to work with.
