I haven't messed around with Googletalk much, but I already know I much prefer Skype over it. Googletalk seems much more complicated, but perhaps that is because it's a new program and I don't want the hassle of relearning something.
Skype vs. Googletalk

I didn't know there was a googletalk. I use skype.

googletalk is complicated but nicer than skype

googletalk but oovoo is the best try it!

I found googletalk more basic and simplistic, at least the one I have. Skype is more versatile and has more involved, but is a bigger memory hog etc. But i use both either way

I use each for different purposes, I wouldn't be able to fairly compare them. I am in a long-distance relationship, and we do use skype everyday to talk. We use the mobile apps to call during the day on our phones and chat at night with video. For that purpose, Skype outshines any similar service.
I voted Google Talk because, aside from my LDR, Talk offers a great alternative to using my phones services (I dont use GTalk with my boy, the international rates are still more than Skype). I can text from my computer, make and take calls, and stay relatively anonymous with my second phone number. I use it in several situations: as my screener number (when a person or business needs my number that I'm apprehensive to provide for, since GTalk lets me block numbers and Sprint doesn't), as a separate 'business' number for any temp business idea I have running at the moment and other odds and ends that I dont want to give out my cell for.

I love skype

I don't use either.

Definitely undeniably Skype. Skype is how I keep in touch with a few of my friends who live far away from me. I just love it!

Skype has given me more bugs and glitches over time compared to Gtalk, but nothing that serious really. Just minor glitches.

I use both, but for video chats I use Skype because it also works on my iPod and with that I can walk around the house while talking to my girlfriend rather than be tied to a computer.

I like Skype the best.

I've never used them

Google is getting so nosy, it's creepy.

I prefer Skype. You can look at other sites and send files a LOT easier.

That I agree with. They sell their data, openly, on consumer use. They claim it is anonymous, but do I trust that? Yah, right.

Used it to talk daily to my daughter when she was abroad in London for six months studying. It was incredible.
