Simplifying and Downsizing.

Around 10 years ago, I took a look at what my life had become and decided I needed a change. I began downsizing the amount of 'things' that I thought I had to have. Took a needs vs. wants perspective. Has anyone else made a conscientious effort along these same lines?

I have always lived by the needs vs. wants lifestyle. Sure I have alot of things that I dont need. But they do not take away from the needs portion. Needs always come first. Then future investments and savings. Then if anything is left, we can get things that we want. I love living my life by my values. I can tell my boss to F off, since I am not living pay check to pay check per say. I still need to work, but I am not stuck in a job that I hate.

We downsized out of necessity...but have continued to do so voluntarily. It is hard sometimes but we appreciate the luxuries more.

yeah but its because i was in a financial situation and realized the money was more important for life essentials instead of things i had for fun.
