I'm living with my mom (my girlfriend is living here too), job hunting and I have an offer, but it's not the best job. it's at a grocery store, 32 hours a week, 1-9 PM 4 days per week and the pay is $9.50 per hour. On the one hand it's a job, but it's also low pay, not that many hours, weird hours at that, no afternoons free time when I work, no time for the gym, not even remotely connected to my field and not really enough to pay for my share of an apartment, food and living expenses and my loans.
Further, grocery clerk was the first job I ever had and I hated it, granted that was at another store, but still. I already have experience in this field, so it won't boost my resume, nor is it a field I'd want to remain or advance.
I have some job possibilities down the line, but it's unclear. One job I might get won't start for another 2-3 weeks, if I get it, but it pays more with more hours. There are also some americorps jobs I'm in the middle of applying for (1st and 2nd interviews).
Any opinions? would it be better to take a sure thing, I probably won't like, for little pay, Or hold out for a possible better job down the line?
