I'm pretty sure there's like... a minimum for things like this. Not having a car, this would be very convenient, but going to school and working means I'm probably not home during delivery hours.

For some grocery items yes, but it's grocery items from Amazon or a few other online stores. None of our local grocery stores has this option yet.

The one that delivers near me has delivery hours literally 24/7.

And there is a minimum, but it's only like $50, and who can't spend $50 on groceries? Sheesh.

I'll buy specialty foods online if I can't get them in any stores around here. Other than that, I don't think I'd order groceries online. I like to get to go out and browse, since I don't really always know what exactly I want to buy.

You know what? When we move out of my mom's, we just might. We both have crappy work schedules as is and the only consistent time we get together is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. But I'm home during the day, so I could totally handle grocery delivery, lol.

I've never done it but I've heard of that service before. Groceries is one thing I prefer to pick out myself, though.

I'd be scared of what people would think if they delivered from a big box store to me. I've picked up some pretty strange things.

One time I bought a small plastic tub, three pack of duct tape, bungee straps, and a pack of candy bars...

The reason: I was removing paint and repainting something and had issues with my trunk (different car). The candy bars were a splurge.

I'm afraid I'm too persnickety with my food. I have food rituals that begin with selection of the item. I'd be afraid I would get the slightly wilted broccoli instead of the freshest bunch.

My wife loves the grocery store. I'm the opposite. I think she would have a breakdown if she didn't go!

I never have because I don't have the option, but I would like to try it.

Wow, so far, I am the only one who does this regularly! We don't have a car, and it is cheaper to pay the delivery charge (usually $7) than get a cab and go there. I have learned the ins and outs of how to do this successfully, and we just love it now. Order online, and have it delivered to your door the next day!

The option is available in my area, but I always assumed the service was intended for people who cannot drive or have limited mobility. Even when I lived in a dorm, I would carry my groceries back and forth about 2 miles because I thought the delivery option was intended for people with limited mobility.

Has this changed?

I order my staples from an online service that delivers, but I still venture forth to the market for most of my produce. It saves a lot of time.

This seems to be either BIG city or VERY tiny town options. Never seen these offered in medium sized cities where I have always lived.

No, we don't have this option out where I live. I believe there are limited places in AU where ya can.
I reckon there would be many times where I would if it was possible! What's better than shopping from the comfort of a warm bed on a freezing cold winter morning!

I know safeway/vons gives you the first delivery free, but I like picking out my own produce. I've considered it during sick/lazy days, but still end up going to the store myself

I have considered it because I have limited transportation. But the prices seem a little iffy. I guess you're paying for the luxury.
