I have used silicone, hard plastics, and rubber and I like them all. The rubber/ skin-like toy I have is my least favorite though but that could be because it is the hardest for me to use. That toy is not a vibrating toy, it has a suction cup and it is a bit big for me as well as it is awkward for me to use it. I found a better use for it though, I stuck it to my shower wall as a gag to company that comes over. I about died laughing when a friend of mine came over for a visit and went in to use the bathroom. She saw it and screamed,"Holy Hell! Has life got so dull that you needed a cock in the shower too!" My reply was,"My shower was jealous of my husband and wanted a cock too."

Silicone is my "default" material that I tend to buy because of it's safety. It's also easy to clean and care for, and feels nice!

Depends what it's for. I like using skin-like toys for oral better than silicone, but for insertion, it has to be silicone or glass. Vixskin (dual-density silicone) is my #1 favorite.

I agree with Skeeterlynn, I prefer things to be above a 7 but try to only get things that can be completely sterilized!!! I don't want to toss something cause I ended up with a yeast infection or UTI an used the item before catching it in time an then having to toss it.

The only thing I won't use is jelly toys. I have no issue with latex, rubber, or PVC. I clean my toys very well and they aren't shared with anyone. As for phthalates, they're pretty much ubiquitous in our environment. So if I have a toy in me for an hour, I don't think it's gonna make much difference. If I can get silicone, I'll go for that just because I like the feel of the material best. I have two glass plugs that I love but would not use a glass dildo anally. It has no give to it and could cause damage. If I could afford a metal plug, I'd love to give it a try.

I voted "skin-like", which I assume you mean the UR3 and similar materials. I love the feeling, but the material is so porous. It would be nice if that type of material were safer.

I HATE Jelly and am allergic to it which I am okay with since its porous and has a strong smell. I also don't like latex items as I am allergic to latex.

Rubber, jelly.. The less body safe materials are not ones I'm likely to use or buy at all. There are several materials though, such as wood, and stone that I've never used that I'd love to try.

Rubber, jelly, pvc. Although some rubber is not nearly as smelly as other rubber is. Not sure what the difference is.

No Wood for use either. Although we have never tried it. All of our recent purchases have been Medical grade stainless steel and silicone.

I think it'sVERY use dependent. For example, the fleshlight material is amazing for masturbators, but would be the last thing I'd want to use for an anal toy. It also depends on if a toy is multi purpose penetration or single purpose. (mouth/vag/anus) even more so if we are talking about external vibrator materials.
