Scars and birthmarks.....lets confess

Ok, so I fugred wede see who all has those scars they hate. Do you have any??? How do you feel about them??? How did you get them???

Ive got the outer side of my left breast with scars from burns. My left breast also has a large chunk(lol this sounds weird) taken out. My side also has a few other burns. My one boob is higher then the other one. I also got a burn by my belly button. I got them in combat. I was riding down the road when our vehicle hit a roadside bomb. We then went under attack of enemy fire. I was on the ground tending to a wounded commrad. I reached back to grab my knife and I bullet went stright inbetween my vest and body taking out my boob. My boob was sorta pressed up agasint my boddy cause well thats just how it is with vests. But it bascily went through and then it hit the other side of the vest and stopped. I then had a hot(after it leaves barrel of weapon its extremely hot) bullet fragment up agasint my belley button. I then also took a few pieces of shrapenerla from a near by explosion. In the end yeh its ugly. but ime alive. Without my vest and helmet ide be dead.

I think your scars are beautiful. And yeah, I haven't seen them, but I don't need to. Scars are the marks that prove we've really lived.

I have many. None of them I'm as proud of as you should be of yours.

Most of my scars are from the couple surgeries I've had– on my stomach and chest. On and there are the stretch marks from being pregnant. I don't hate them. Mostly I think scars are just a visible sign of life experience– markers of where life has taken me. I wouldn't trade my stretch marks for the world.

Yours are definitely much more interesting and proof of the sacrifice you've made for the safety of the rest of us. I agree with inbarati, your scars are something to be proud of and the mark of admirable bravery that few of us have.

I have a lot of scars because i have had something like 8 surgeries. I had cancer so yea lol

I measured them one day can't remember what the total was, will have to get the motivation to do that again.

I flaunt my scars, i have no problem showing them off to anyone.

i also have a birthmark on my thigh, not too fond of it but its whatever.

I don't have hardly any scars, the longest being about an inch and a half on my big toe from some glass. I just wanted to say that I think scars give a person character and I find that very attractive. Not in a perverted or fetishist way, just that I would love someone [italics|and] their scars; their scars make them who they are

I don't have many scars myself but my hubby does and I love them. To me they remind me of our youth, where he received most of them, and all the fun we had.

My family is military and most of them have combat scars as well. Those are the most interesting scars I think people can carry. They are unique and special and remind those that haven't been in combat just what people have to give so we can have the lives we do today.

The only real scars I have are from piercings that I've taken out. I am however very freckle-y which I do not like but I've learned to live with it. My boy, on the other hand, has very scarred up hands and arms because he works with his hands and I absolutely LOVE them - they remind me everytime I see them how hard he works, which is one of the things I adore about him.

I have a splotchy cafe au lait birthmark on my right side, just above my waist. I have a larger, faint cafe au lait birthmark that is about the size of a tennis ball on the outer portion of my upper right thigh. (Interestingly, both of my brothers have the exact marks on both of them, except on their left side and thigh!)

In terms of scars:
- A faint thin scar above my upper lip, from a friend and I colliding when we were playing volleyball together. Her fingernail scratched me. I was 12.

- A raised, thick scar on my right hand, from where I put my hand out to break my fall/protect my son (he was five months old at the time) when I slipped off of a curb (ice + gravel = slippery!). I broke my fall, and also busted up my hand and knee pretty bad. My knee also has several scars from that incident.

- Five laparoscopic scars on my stomach, from my gastric bypass surgery on November 18th, 2009.

- C-section scar above my public area, from my son's delivery on July 26th, 2006.

- Various scars on my legs from childhood (I was a total tomboy).

Oh dear. This one's going to be a long 'un.

- birthmark on left upper arm, shaped like an angel or a heart (depending on how you want to look at it). I used to hide it, but now I kind of like it. It's not very dark, but it is noticeable.

- four ugly moles on my left arm. I've had these for as long as I can remember, and I've had them looked at at least once a year, just to make sure they don't go cancerous. They're all really dark, like coffee.

- one mole on my right jaw, about an inch or two below my ear. I hate this one too, it's kind of ugly and fleshy. Really dark. I want it gone.

- various scars on legs and knees. I'm a klutz. I have a really bad one on my right knee that's like a little pouch of scar tissue. It was bad.

- long thin scar on big toe on left foot. My mom dropped a frying pan on my toe.

- scar on left pointer finger and right middle finger from having hand shut in door.

- slice scar (maybe half the length of my finger) on middle left finger from using an X-Acto knife in art class. Required stitches. I still don't have any feeling in that area on my finger.

- various stretch marks on my stomach, arms, and thighs. Unattractive.

- various psoriasis scars. I've struggled with it my entire life.

-One long vertical scar on my abdomen from a hysterectomy. Its crooked. Why they didn't take the extra 2 seconds to cut straight, I don't know.

-One tiny scar on my pinky finger from my cat.

I've got lots of em. A few chicken pock marks, one on the top of my belly button from where it was pierced, one inside my belly button from my tubal ligation, one on my forehead from where I split it open in gym in 8th grade and 3 on my abdomen from laproscopic gall bladder removal. Those I don't mind at all. The scars that bother me are the stretch marks all over my stomach from four pregnancies. I've also got this thing called tinea versicolor and I have to use medication to treat it. If I don't I get light brown spots all over my body and they're concentrated behind my knees, inside my elbows and under my breasts.

Straight scars aren't really their priority. All my surgical scars are crooked, too.

I have a long scar abouve my pubic mound from an oophorectomy, a huge birthmark on my right thigh that I call "my yam", various scars on my hands because I play with knives, an X scar on the right side of my belly from some laparoscopic procedure, two scars in my bellybutton from laparoscopies, holes from my eyebrow piercing, a cut on my top lip, and I think that's it besides stretch marks. None of it really bothers me at all

Oh, I forgot my surgery scars!

- three small incisions on my abdomen, starting from just between and below my breasts, one under my right breast, and one more to the side. These were from the removal of my gall-bladder a few years ago.

- one incision in my belly button from the same surgery.

I have a lot of scars under my arms in and around my armpit from cysts and abscesses. They make me very very insecure so I don't go sleeveless ever. I also have scars other places from self-injury. No birthmarks other than freckles or tiny ones that are pretty invisible from the chicken pox.

First of all, let me say thank you to you for risking your life for all of us! Be proud of those scars!

Now, I have a long scar on my right ankle... I dislocated and fractured my ankle on a skateboard in high school and had to have surgery on it. Next, a rather ugly one on my abdomen from an appendectomy. I sort of hate that one. But, all in all, after all these years I have learned to ignore them, I guess.

I know guys who think "battle scars" are hot, be it from actual battle or from doing various kinds of work.

I have my hands in a lot of crafty, handywoman activities, cooking, so I have scars from burns, cuts. I have scars from shaving, scars from my love of cats (I like to make them playful and bite!), scars from chicken pox. I have a scar that I don't think can be seen from a Bartholin's gland drainage, but I can feel it sometimes. I wish I could have perfect skin. I model a little and some photographers don't know how to get rid of scars in Photoshop (It's really easy, I use the program!). But it's OK. Scars can say a lot about you.

I have lots of scars, some of them I'd rather not talk about, but the only ones I feel embarrassed about physically are my chicken pox scars.

I've got a bunch from when I was younger and had done some self harming (bad idea, not endorsing in any way, shape, or form), and a whole bunch from random stupid things like dropping a glass milk container that cut the back of my ankle, or the time when I was about 6 and thought that I could crawl across a narrow piece of string that had been tied from one bed to another across the room, one above my eyebrow from jumping on furniture at my grandmothers, one under my lip from falling while using a glass baby bottle when I was really little, and a whole bunch more, lol

I have alot of scars and depending on the day is how I feel about them. There are 2 on my back that are the most obvious. Both from cancer surgeries. The one between my shoulder blades is from skin cancer and is fairly small and faded out now. The other goes across my shoulder blade and because of the type of cancer they had to take out all the fat and muscle so it have a "hole" there and is kinda sunk in. It's taken awhile to accept them but I'm getting there. For me personally I can look at the biggest scar and smile because it gave me time to spend with my husband while I was on medical leave and then 2 weeks after going back to work he died of a massive heart attack. So I look at it in the mirror and say thank you. Weird I know but that's me! As far as others seeing it I'm still a little guarded but only because it brings up the whole how did you get it conversation which brings the sad pity look and I hate that! I'm lucky I'm alive and it's still a battle everyday so I don't like hearing the "oh you poor thing" and all. And then there are the guys who look at you like the duct tape just didn't hold and you're falling apart. Screw them! All in all I'm proud of them because they represent a personal battle I won!

usmcwife99... Darlin be proud!! Having never seen you I can still say I think you are one of the Sexiest Woman Alive!!!!!!! Wear them proud!! And thank you for all you and your hubby do!!! Big hugs to both of you! Semper Fi!!!!

I have a scar and a dent in my leg bone from falling when I was younger at a marina. I have three in various places across my stomch from a laproscopic appendectomy, I have one on my knee from roller skating. I have one where I have to get a few stitches from a kitchen accident. So nothing that bad. I also have stretch marks from having a long baby boy. (He was not fat, but man was he long)

I don't particularly 'hate' any of my scars except for this one on my cheek from when I fell face first into a plastic bucket as a toddler.

I have two scars on my toes, my left heel, and four scars on my back from having moles removed. I also have a deep scar on my forearm from a bee sting. Three scars in the center of my chest, directly between my breasts, from a wasp stinging me three times in succession and I have a rather large scar on one of my breasts from a wasp stinging me there. They were separate occasions, about eight years apart. I freak out whenever I see wasps now. I walked around high school, as a freshman, for two weeks with one breast the size of a grapefruit and the other almost completely flat. It was, um, interesting to say the very least.

I also have a scar above my eye from my husband tackling me and me meeting the hard, sharp edge of a wooden table. Most people who have a scar like this get it as a toddler. You know the story, baby brother gets ticked and headbutts you with the metal dumptruck...that kind of thing. I got mine as an adult and it was kind of awkward explaining what happened. I didn't want anyone to think he was abusing me. He was just trying to laid!

There are a few more here and there, but nothing major or that had an awesome story behind it.
