I love Ramune! It's like a soda pop.. do you drink it? I especially love the glass bottles with the marble.

I tried it once in a Japanese restaurant and my grocery store has a few different flavors but I don't find it different enough from western sodas to warrant buying it.

There is one brand of Ramune that I looooooooooove… I could occasionally find it when I lived in NYC but I haven't had any in years.

Love it! The International grocery store near us even carries Ramune candies

I've never been able to try it but the day I find it I intend to get some. It sounds neat!

I like it, especially melon.
07/22/2012
i haven't heard of it...

It tastes okay. I'd rather just buy soda.

I've never heard of it.

I like ramune but I wish we had melon soda here like they do in Japan.
07/22/2012
I love Ramune to death, but I've had several messy mishaps with opening them.
07/22/2012
I have wanted to try it; I just have not yet. I know how to open one though. Since we're talking Japanese snacks, I noticed that Pocky and Hello Panda are available in the US now. I buy them sometimes. I would love to try more snacks from Japan.

I have never heard of this.

I think it's time to place another order at link

I guess this is what you are talking about:

Damn, I want a bottle of that Hello Kitty Ramune. Judging by the bottle, it seems to be strawberry flavored. That would awesome. I love Hello Kitty.

No because it is HIDEOUSLY overpriced in America! It doesn't taste different from your average Japanese soda, but they mark it up here because they know weeaboos are willing to pay anything for it, and the average consumer will see it as a novelty rather than a drink. I love some of the rarer flavors that you just can't find outside specialty stores (melon, peach) but when I do get them it's either for regular ramune price or just in cheap cans.

I drink it sometimes. But it's often pretty expensive and some of the flavors are too sweet for me.

LOL @ use of weeaboo. My sister told me she recently encountered that term on Youtube and had to look it up on Urban Dictionary. I agree about the markup. Some vendors were selling ramune and other Japanese snacks at an anime convention I attended, and the prices were ridiculous. Kids were buying the stuff though. Some girl opened a bottle ramune in one of the rooms where a voice actor was talking, and she got the stuff everywhere.

I've never paid more than $1 or so for any Japanese snack I've tried. I would never pay the types of prices that I saw at the con.

It depends where you buy it. Most Asian food stores sell it at a proper price, if for no other reason than the Japanese price is written on the bottle. I'll pay a 25¢ or in some cases 50¢ markup because importing is expensive and they're saving me having to import it by the caseload (and pay for shipping) myself, but you're right — many manga / anime vendors act like it's some rare wine vintage and price it ridiculously.

My friend gave me some one time and it was delicious....having to read instructions on how to open a bottle made me feel pretty dumb though.

I had some, but I didn't taste anything special.

I voted I have never heard of it. Until I scrolled down and saw the pictures. Yes I have heard of it. Never tried it yet.
