Some things I do the same, but some I do different. I have come to realize that some of the things I hated actually made me who I am today, a better person than I would have been.
I do have them gather dirty laundry and sort, fold and put away their clean laundry.
(I don't make them wash their own laundry like I had to.)
I let them make sandwiches and put together their lunch. My 9 year old is allowed to use the microwave for corndogs.
(I don't make them cook for themselves. I learned how to cook this way.)
I let them watch tv but only when it is pouring down rain.
(I was never allowed to watch tv.)

as parents we are no more the same our than children are. but it is fair to say that we try to instill the same values of honesty and mutual respect that my parents tried to teach me.

I would not say I parent in an opposite way as my parents, but there are things we do differently.
