Publish a Review 50pts, Edit 125/400 Really?

Beyond the verified reviews, EF technically doesn't need any additional reviews, so for those the 50 points is merely a bonus. For the verified reviews, they received the toy for free as compensation.
The points rewarded for editing are compensation for work EF would otherwise have to pay an employee to perform. Points are simply a cheaper way for them to accomplish with almost the same result. Prior to the editor program, JR said he would spend the entire day doing nothing but editing reviews. His time is better spent doing other duties.

Do you work for Eden, or just speaking for them

I don't work or speak for EF, that is my opinion. Any additional reviews beyond the verified are simply icing on the cake for EF. I'm sure they're happy to have them, but they are certainly not necessary. Most readers won't read more than 3 reviews written for a product, yet contributors are free to continue writing them and getting rewarded with points for it.

Makes sense to me... I am happy to take whatever amount they are willing to give for the reviews. They really add up fast and I have been able to afford some things I would not have gotten otherwise, I just had an order shipped today that regular price was 200 give or take, a little over 80 after sales and just over 50 after points.

I agree with you, it doesn't bother me to only get 50 pts for a review, they actually don't have to do anything at all but I am glad they do.

For the first couple weeks I worked here, all I did was proof reviews for 10-12 hours a day...or more.

Yeah, EdenTasks and the auto-publishing has REALLY helped!
Kindred really knows his stuff. If he didn't already have an awesome job, I'm sure he'd be more involved with the site.

I agree, we get free toys to write the review. I'd rather get some awesome $50 toy and $.50 worth of points than get $4.00 worth of points and not get free toys! That's just me, though.

I agree. And I do NOT work with EF. I'm jobless so I'm just a reviewer. EdenFantasys doesn't have to give us ANYTHING at all. The fact that we get free toys is one thing but to kind of reward us for the review is a big plus. Even if my review is the 75th one on this bottle of lube I still get rewarded sooo, no.
I enjoy the points I get. Besides when I work hard to save for that one special item I want, it's sooo amazing when I get it LOL

Absolutely right, Kindred. I certainly wouldn't read all 203 (so far) reviews on the Hitachi Magic Wand, but EF has probably delivered at least 8000 points for them since they started giving out points for reviews. Pretty generous for a toy that sells itself, I would say.

I wouldn't waste my time for 50 points. Especially since all the intentional down rating taking place.
04/03/2012
I agree, I don't think 50 points is worth writing additional reviews of toys that I didn't get through the review program for free.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that.

The verified reviews don't always tell me everything I want to know about an item. The more reviews there are on a product, the better it is in helping a consumer make an informed decision.
04/03/2012
That's peoples option to write the reviews and get compensated for it if they want to. You don't have to write for anything other than an assigned review if you don't want to.
I personally do not have a job and enjoy being able to do something with my time during the day besides watching cartoons with the kids. I wanted to be a journalist at one point in my life and was a copy editor for a time where I edited work of others so being able to write and edit others work is a way for me to do something I enjoy. I don't do it for the .50, I do it because I enjoy doing it.

yea it'd be nice to get a little more for the writing

I write because I enjoy it, to be honest that's why I do most things on Eden, every time that little box pops up it's like "oh yea I'm getting points for this too! sweet!"
