Most of my friends come to me when they need help.

I seem to somehow end up in the middle of most of my friend's problems as the advice giver.

I am a professional financial planner, so when issues of money are involved, I am asked many questions. But more than that, my life's experiences has also played a factor in being a sounding-board on other issues of a moral character point-of-view!

It depends. I solve problems for a living. I'm a Lactation Consultant and when I see a client, I need to diagnose what the problem is, figure out a treatment plan that will work for that mother and baby, and present these things, along with giving her data and beneficial help in a positive way.
I try not to solve the problems of people who don't ask.
Now, the question is, when people ask for "help" on discussion boards, do they really want "help" or do they just want everyone to agree with them?

I am usually the go to person for helping others. Weather it is solving problems, acting as a sounding board or giving advice, it seems like I am the person people ask. Of course I also like to help but do wait until I am asked. Nothing worse then unsolicited advice!!!

I'm the girl with the answers, or a method to get the answers. People start to rely on it too heavily.

Occasionally I get someone who wants my help/advice. It's not an all the time thing for me so I wouldn't say yes or no, only sometimes.

I always end up in the middle of it. I dont understand why. They dont like the fact that I dont sugar coat my answers, I tell it like it is. Most people dont like the truth, they like to feel good.

I have been thur alot of stuff in my life. Because of that my friends know that I can give them advice on many things so they often do come to me.

If I can help I will. I don't like seeing anyone in problems or distress.

Sometimes. I'm more the person that gets asked for opinions than for solving problems.

If people come to me at all, I usually just kind of listen to what they have to say. I rarely actually give advice, and it's even more rare for someone to actually take my advice.

I voted for 'other' - it depends on who has a problem and how big the problem is.

A lot of people kind of expect me to be one so I try to help but it can be too much.

Yes! My family know who will do it all without question. Me! I'm actually working on trying to make one person realize that they cannot use the hell out of me any longer. There's a difference in coming to someone all the time because they're dependable and coming to them because you want to use the hell out of them.
