What is your preferred shipping method?

Between Eden and a certain website named for a river in South America, I get lots of packages in the mail. I like the convenience of USPS, but their tracking is haphazard at best.

UPS is the fastest, but more expensive.
FedEx is just a joke when I've used it.

I almost voted carrier pigeon because I've had issues with all the others. UPS leaves my packages in weird places. USPS is fastest, at least with my Eden packages. Fed Ex and UPS require signatures which is a PITA.

I generally select USPS over UPS because I try to support the postal service. Yes, the tracking sucks but at least they deliver on Saturdays (for now).

I like USPS especially for my Eden stuff. Because of the box type I always get it within 3 or 4 days. So I dont even check my tracking on Eden packages. And the mail lady knows me now, I always think she thinks im crazy though---I get packages 3 to 4 ish times a week from various places. It must make her wonder.

USPS because it's fastest and they deliver 6 out of 7 days of the week.

Brown! Hands down better than USPS and FedEx. Fed X always asks for a signature and the tracking on USPS is a joke!

USPS definitely. I have problems with beat-up boxes and boxes reeking of cigarette smoke with UPS.. FedEx is just ridiculous in itself.

UPS, they are most dependable and reliable in my personal experience.

USPS definitely. I always use them and frequently get the packages AHEAD of schedule

At my rural address, where both USPS and UPS can leave a package on the porch if we're not home when they knock, both work perfectly well, so I prefer UPS for their accurate tracking and their ability to get things delivered consistently one day quicker than USPS.

At my city address, where the packages can't be left on the sidewalk if we don't answer when the delivery driver knocks on the door, I prefer UPS for the fact that I can get same-day-will-call and pick up my package that evening. USPS isn't too much worse there, though, I can get it from their package location the next day and that works too. Interestingly, at my city address, both UPS and USPS ship in the same number of days (it must just take USPS an exra day to get out to the country), so if I'm ordering on a Thursday or Friday in the city I'll use USPS because they ship on Saturdays too.

FedEx, the one time I received something from them, was really frustrating. The guy didn't knock the first two days, and after calling to see if they offered a same-day-will-call equivalent, they just said "no, we just try one more time to deliver it and then we'll mark it return to sender for you." Um, thanks guys? So I had to camp out at the street-level door to my apartment all morning.

I like the USPS mail man. The only dealings I have had with the UPS guy was not particularly great.

USPS only because they deliver 6 days a week to my residence but prefer UPS when having things delivered to my business address.

I tend to do USPS if I don't get free Next Day shipping. I, somehow and for some reason, always make my orders so that they are expected to arrive on Saturdays, and USPS delivers on Saturdays. Plus, they're faster (by about 2-3 days), and cheaper than UPS Ground.

So, basically, it's USPS or Next Day if I get it free.

The first time I answered this question when the poll was asked a few weeks/months ago, I answered USPS. I wanted to do my part to, you know, keep them in business. But I will NEVER use them again after they lost an Eden package of mine and the best they did for me was send me an email saying, and I'm quoting here, this:

An apology is no substitute for good service, but I want to offer one on behalf of the Postal Service. We appreciate your reporting this matter to us. It helps to know the kinds of difficulties our customers have so we can work toward improvements. The loss of any piece of mail is as disappointing to us as it is to you. Please accept our sincere apology for any inconvenience this matter may have caused you.

And nothing else. No attempt to contact me further or find the actual package or even who was responsible. My faith in them is gone.

Totally depends on where I am buying a product and how quickly I need it to get to me. I don't usually send UPS/Fedex to the house, but I do to work. USPS for home.

USPS. I also appreciate them as a seller/trader for their shipping prices and speed (Priority/First Class), not to mention their free materials. Without them, surely UPS/FedEx would only get worse. Tracking is a common complaint.

Ensenda is pretty awesome (fast) around here. (Most notably, Amazon occasionally ships with them.)

UPS is slow (Ground), many times in town on Thursday/Friday but not delivered until the next Monday. Very few ship with FedEx anymore (?).

Darling Jen that is ridiculous, and I've heard very similar accounts (many from west coast for some reason). Seems like luck that it hasn't happened to me, yet...

When getting packages from Eden, I like to use UPS ground, since i like their tracking system better then USPS'S, but if I'm not worried about it, it's something I'm not in a rush to get, I use USPS. I won't use FedEx anymore because of the fact I've had trouble with them.

I live overseas but for international orders I prefer UPS for only fast delivery. Also I prefer (ARAMEX) which is also fast and cost effective. USPS is good for me only if it is (Express) from USA shipping.

I try to go with USPS whenever I can. Sometimes that isn't an option, so then I go with UPS first, FedEx second - if it's up to me.

I always pick UPS, and the one day I accidentally picked USPS, my package came a day later than it would have with UPS.

UPS is the best for me. I work in customer service, though, so I can rank them a bit more objectively based on how many problems I hear people calling up about with each carrier:

-OnTrac
-UPS
-Lazership
-FedEx
-USPS

OnTrac wins, in my book, because their customer service is ace, even if their drivers fuck up on occasion.

I generally go with USPS, because it's cheapest. It usually arrives within 2-3 days (had one mishap years ago) also. The only complaint I have is with my mail lady and the fact that delivery time varies between 10am and 2 pm where I live now. The mail lady knocks really quiet, and my room is in the basement so I never hear her. They are supposed to leave a door tag, but instead she leaves my packages on the front steps (despite having asked her not to).

USPS, but I have been thinking of changing to UPS, but they have not been throwing my packages lately. I think the mail man gets mad that he has a few boxes a week for me.
