Do you make potato salad, if so what ingredients do you use?

Do you make potato salad and if so, what ingredients do you use in the sauce? I just made some and I use mayo, mustard, celery, onion powder (I've given up on using real onion because it's too strong), sweet pickle relish and sometimes chopped hard boiled egg.

my wife makes it, and she does a great job. Not sure what she uses though.

I just use mayo, dill pickles and the juice, mustard, and hard boiled eggs.

Don't put onion in and it took 5 years and me telling hubby that I don't use onion. He always thought I did.

When I make "regular" potato salad: potatoes, mayo, sweet onion, hard boiled eggs, salt and pepper. Most of the time I add macaroni.

When I'm a little more motivated: red potatoes, bacon, sweet onion, mayo, sour cream, ranch salad mix, salt, pepper and some radishes for a bit of crunch and color. Sometimes I'll throw in hard boiled eggs.

Russet potatoes, Miracle Whip (I've never told anyone this - they wouldn't eat it if they knew), dijon mustard, ranch dressing, chopped hard-boiled eggs, chopped dill pickles, garlic salt, dried minced onion, paprika, dried parsley.

I'd love to make a hot German potato salad, but nobody else would eat it - I think the vinegar part scares them.

Hot German potato salad - YUM!

I'd be more than happy to help you out but FL is a little far from central TX - even for fabulous hot German potato salad.

The admittedly few restaurants I've found around here that offer hot German potato salad don't do a very good job and most taste as though they don't have any vinegar in them - bland.

Thanks for the offer, though. I made it once for a manager's birthday party. Since she's originally from Germany, I thought it would be a good offering for the potluck - she loved it, especially since I was one of the few who "... finally put in enough vinegar!"

I use my mother's old recipe - Red potatoes (skins on), mayo, mustard, celery, scallions, sweet relish, and boiled egg sliced fine. Small pieces of bacon or ham sometimes go in.

All these food posts are making me hungry.

I make it with potatoes, mayo, salt and pepper (just enough) relish and mustard. Hubby loves it.
