It was a very low point in my life that day I walked into the local pawn shop. There's one on just about every corner around here and I needed food. I sold something very precious to me and was never able to get it back out. Still haunts me. The sentamental value versus will never be worth that $40 I got for it.

not really. most stuff tends to get undersold at pawn stores so if i need anything to be sold, i'll just go to ebay or something

I've visited one, because I was curious. lol. It was a bunch of junk. I've never pawned anything or bought anything from one. I've got a few things I need to get rid of, maybe I should take them and see how much they'll give me for my junk. =]

I've found a lot of really good deals on hard to find items at pawn shops. Everything from speakers, to DVD's, to video games.

I've been to them a few times just to see what's there. It's hard to sell stuff I find, but managed to sell lots of DVD's.

I've been in a few but haven't bought anything. I'm going to be in Vegas this fall and I'm definitely planning on trying to get to Gold and Silver Pawn. I hear the lines are ridiculous, but really, how often am I in Vegas?

I've been to a few. There are LOTS of musical instruments (guitars mostly), sound systems, crappy DVD's, and usually a wide selection of 15+ year old prons.

They're good for finding old cd's though. I wouldn't pawn anything though, you get next to nothing for it.

Pretty much the only people I know that go to pawn shops where I live are drug addicts, honestly. And addicts will totally trade their mother's heirloom pearls for a few bucks, so theoretically pawn shops should be full of amazing stuff, right? But, in fact, the shop owners just keep and privately resell most of the good stuff. Mostly there's just lot of electronics and shit. Worth visiting though, you can find some good stuff. Just don't expect to make any money selling to pawn shops because the appeal of the pawn is fast cash, not getting the true value of the product.

we have 2 in town i go in ocassionally and look around mostly for dvds cause ours usually has decent ones and they're only like 2.50 have bought xbox games too . never pawned anything.
