If you are in the path of the hurricane, what pets do you leave WITH and which do you LEAVE BEHIND.

We have a dog, cat, bird and fish. They ALL leave with us. Dog in car, Cat in car in carrier. Bird in "travel box" cage and fish in two large buckets with firm tops and "battery bait pumps" running little box filters. NO ONE stays behind at our house. How about YOURS?

I voted "other" because there was no option to "take everyone". I always take my animals, and I make accommodations for fish and others that can't go on the road easily.

I only have a cat and would take her with me. If I had other pets I would take them as well.

Aw that is so nice that you did all that to keep your pets with you. I'm very sorry about what you are going through. How is your area now? Are things OK? I've been praying for everyone in the way of that nasty thing all day. We had our first tornado in my area several months ago and we had more than 3 in that same day! It was so scary. We all thought we were going to die. Some did. It was awful and I didn't want to leave the house, but my paranoid dad wanted us to get out and go with him off the mountain. Right as we were off we saw the tornado ripping across the mountain and not long after it was right behind us at a red light! We parked and somehow made it just fine, but the building we were parked beside is still destroyed! When I saw it going across our mountain I cried for my babies. I was so angry and afraid they'd be hurt. Thankfully our home was not damaged. The pets were all OK. But if we ever had to evacuate theres no way my babies would stay behind. I'd fight if I had to. I have Hubert the Hamster and 3 cats and one dog and I would never forgive myself if I left them. I would totally be lost without them.

I sure hope everyone is OK around your area and all though.

I voted other for the same reasons as the others. I'm not leaving unless all my animals come with me.

I would never leave my dog behind. In Philadelphia the evacuation shelters they set up are allowing people to bring their pets and this made me incredibly happy. I'm sure there are a lot of people who wouldn't leave if they couldn't bring their pets along, so I am thrilled our city is making an effort to accommodate all the pets that need to be evacuated.
