The partisan divide on baby names...

very interesting article here regarding how "red" states (republican/conservati ve) tend to have more names that are out of the ordinary, whereas "blue" states (democratic/liberal) have more traditional names. The hypothesis is that the parents are older in blue states and are more at to choose traditional names over unique names. As a man whose name is almost entirely female (it wasn't when I was born) I really wish new parents would consider how their children have to live with these names before deciding.
