Do you parallel park or drive around the block?

Maybe you can parallel park if you had to but would rather not go to the effort? I sometimes hesitate if I am driving an unfamiliar car & not as sure of my parameters, but only if it's a tight fit. If someone is being impatient & obnoxious behind you, does that make you give up?

Go ahead and mention any parking situation that is similar for you or something that is stressful about parking a car for you!

Since I own a big SUV, parallel parking is no big deal for me! I'm use to it; BUT, who parallel park today anyway? I think you only need to parallel park to get your drivers licence!!!

I can't parallel park. I won't even attempt it. I'll either keep driving around or make plans so that someone that can parallel park is driving that day!

I have to parallel park all the time. I guess it just depends on the way things are set up where you live. Since I live in an older area, there are few parking lots; many of the stores & buildings only have curbside parking available.

When I drove a smaller car, I cold easily zip in & out for parallel parking. I loved being able to fit into places the big cars couldn't. However, I had to switch cars to something bigger & better suited to my mother's comfort as I am her driver; she couldn't get in & out of the other car anymore. I had a little trouble estimating space for a few days, but quickly became comfortable.

I can't parallel park at all. I didn't even have to do it when I got my driver's license. I'm pretty sure if I even tried I'd end up hitting another car, so I don't bother attempting it.

I can't parallel park to save my life! I would rather park somewhere farther away than risk hitting someone.

If I'm alone, I'll find somewhere else, if I have someone with me then I'll get out and let them do it. I'm horrible and can never get in the spot correctly.

I live in a rural enough area that I have NEVER parallel parked. Never been in the situation! I think I could if I needed to, matter of fact I know I COULD. Just never had to.

Same here! I will drive around the block though if uncomfortable about the situation.

I hate parallel parking with a passion. Back at my college town, most parking in town and around campus was curbside. I hated it. I actually hit a car parallel parking on campus while I was on the clock and driving a university vehicle. Ugh.

Thankfully, my hometown, where I am now, has little to no curbside parking.
