Usually, although I remember at least one time just deciding to roll with it and eat what they did bring.
If your order is wrong at a restaurant, do you send it back?

I have friends who don't want to rock the boat, and they will just eat whatever they are brought. Others will not send theirs back and wind up picking at the meal or not eating at all. I know some people are afraid of the restaurant staff "doing something" to their food if they send it back, but honestly, I feel if you are paying for a meal, you should expect to get what you want, the way you want it.

Sometimes. It really depends on what is wrong with the order. I did send tamale's back once because, I don't like the red sauce there, and ordered queso on top instead (Which costs an extra $1). They brought them out with red sauce. I was very polite about it and they brought an extra set for me to take home. This place has excellent customer service everytime we go.
Then, there was a time I had ordered a steak. I never order steak but, we went with some people to a well known steakhouse. My steak arrived to the table with blood still dripping from it. I ordered my steak well done because, I cannot stand the thought of eating a rare piece of meat. The management wasn't too happy about me sending it back and at the end, we ended up giving the guy 2 tips.
I figured it out after we had left. Our party gave him around $30 or $40 cash as a tip and then he came back and handed us the bill. Well, he also added an additional 15% gratituity on top of our food bill even though we already gave him a tip.

Depends on my mood. But I will let the waiter/waitress know.

Most likely, yes, I will send it back. Because you will be charged for the dish you didn't order...so I would send it back so I actually get what I want.

As a vegan I'll send food back if I was brought something I can't eat by accident, but always try and be as nice as I can about it. If it is something dumb like they forgot to leave out onions or something then I don't even bother. Not worth the hassle and potentially pissing someone off that handles my food.
06/05/2012
Definitely get the wait staff to side with you before sending it back. Don't send anything back to an angry person.
06/05/2012
I actually got the wrong order at a restaurant YESTERDAY....I didn't send it back and it ended up being a happy accident since it was something I've always wanted to try but something I never want to order
06/11/2012
most of the time I don't realize unless something missing- a large part of the order is missing like the side disses
06/11/2012
Depends on what's wrong with it. If they botched a sauce or condiment, I can't fix that so easily, so of course it's going back to the kitchen. Something as simple as forgetting to leave off the tomato, though... I just pick it off and deal with it.
06/11/2012
I usually don't. I'm pretty laid back and just roll with it.
06/11/2012
Only if it's something I really don't like. I empathize with servers and don't want to make their day any harder.
06/11/2012
Well I'm vegan so if they mess up and bring me something that isn't vegan I have to send it back (which really sucks because then those animal products get wasted anyways). The only other time I've sent something back was when the waitress brought me something completely different from what I ordered and it was way to spicy for me to eat.
06/11/2012
I sure do I have had bad experiences with food and getting sick. If you not going to make my stuff right it will be going back.
06/11/2012
If it's not what I've ordered, I'll definitely send it back politely.
06/11/2012
I only send it back if it's really badly wrong. If it's something like they forgot to leave off tomatoes, even though I hate them and they're all I can taste if they've touched my food, I don't send it back.
07/05/2012
Nah, I usually just eat it, unless I've ordered something vegetarian and they've sent me back something with meat in it. I haven't eaten meat in three years, I'm not going to risk feeling extremely ill just for the sake of politeness.
07/05/2012
It has to be a relatively big mistake, I will bring it too their attention but usually will not send it back.
07/05/2012
I send it back, and when they return with the "corrected" version I check for spit and dandruff

It DEPENDS. If I absolutely can't stand something they put in it, that I said not to, yes. But not usually.

I don't send food back because I usually have takeout orders and don't have enough spoons to bring them back again...

It depends. As a former food service industry worker I know that it's usually not the waiters fault but a kitchen mistake and tip the server well even if there is a mess up.
07/05/2012
I'll talk to the server and feel it out before sending anything back. If it's minor, I just accept it, and don't come back.
07/13/2012
I will usually send it back, politely!!!! After all I didn't go out to have someone else choose what I'm going to eat!
09/24/2012
I'll send it back and leave. or if it's no big deal then I'll eat it anyway.

I don't ever recall getting something I didn't order...
