We have to say if it's hot or iced tea. Normally for me it's hot tea. I only drink it when we go to a Chinese resturant.
If you order tea to drink in your area, is it hot or cold?

In Canada the tea always comes hot but when I've asked for tea in the U.S. it has come cold.

I live in NJ and if I ever order tea somewhere, it's hot. When I was in Texas awhile back, I ordered tea and the waitress automatically brought me iced tea. I was wondering what people would assume in your area if you asked for tea.

If they were to assume, it would be hot. But I always specify, so there is no confusion. I'm surprised they wouldn't ask which way you wanted your tea.
03/26/2013
I would never think to just ask for tea. I'd always specify either iced tea or hot tea when ordering.

Winter is hot--summer is iced. Extreme weather....

They ask you to clarify which you'd like if you only ask for "tea" around here (North East).
03/26/2013
Iced tea!
03/26/2013
Depends on how I feel.
03/26/2013
Hot, cold, or in the middle.
03/26/2013
Hot tea is nice every now and then when it's cold out. It's nice for a sore throat. But I prefer and mostly drink iced tea.
03/26/2013
you have to specify which way, it is listed both hot and cold in most places.
03/26/2013
Both.
03/26/2013
I like my tea hot! I've never cared much for iced tea.

I grew up in a place where "tea" meant "hot tea," and now I live somewhere they ask "Sweet-tea, or unsweetened?" when you ask for tea, because most restaurants serve both kinds of iced tea.

I love hot tea, but iced tea is nice sometimes. Sweet tea and lemonade (with a lil rum if you'd like) is good too.
03/26/2013
Iced tea.
03/26/2013
I said 'other' because there wasn't an option for 'both'. I drink both of them at any given time during the year, regardless of weather, even though I live in an area where winters are cold and summers are hot. It just depends on what mood I'm in, and what type of tea is available. Some flavored teas are better either hot or cold in my opinion, and then plain tea just depends on the mood.

I like hot tea, but I usually forget about it and it turns cold... cold tea ain't bad either though.
03/26/2013
I don't drink much tea, but I think it is listed as both hot and cold on the menus.
03/26/2013
Iced tea is common here. I've only been ask if I wanted hot or cold tea at Starbucks.
03/27/2013
Iced tea most of the time - only on the occasional cold winter night will I make hot tea - bacause I don't drink coffee.

If I'm ordering tea out it's always iced tea. I only drink hot tea at home.

Hot! I live in an area where it's chilly often, and I drink a LOT of hot tea. Iced tea is ok but I don't get it often.
03/27/2013
Hot tea or coffee.

iced sweet tea a southerner's life blood lol
03/29/2013
Hot! I never drink iced tea, just as a habit -- maybe I'll start this summer.
