On BLACK FRIDAY, will you be one of the folks out, in line, at midnight, waiting for the SUPER SALES???

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
A few years ago we stood in line starting at 3am for a six o'clock Best Buy deal. We were about 100 people back in line. It was a social event as much as anything. They had a band outside and there was a food truck selling hot chocolate and doughnuts!!! However, now, I do almost all my shopping....EARLY, online and get great deals. Christmas sales have already begun and it is only the start of November!!! SO...are you someone who still plans to be UP EARLY and IN LINE at stores on Black Friday???

No way. I will shop Black Friday "deals", but only later in the day, when the morning crowds are gone.

Done the line thing, got sick from the cold AND didn't get there close enough to the front to get good stuff. Passing this year. I will, however, be up at midnight refreshing pages for internet deals (Eden first on my list, of course!).

Hell no. Going shopping on Black Friday is ridiculous. Also, online sales have made it pretty much pointless.

I just check out the online sales on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Some companies have throughout the entire weekend others just Friday or Monday, but I do try to get Christams on sale b/c I'm on a budget and the two kids do want toys.

I've worked retail and food service on Black Friday ... I do not want to contribute to any employee's desire to go postal on a bunch of dim-witted consumers who value cheap crap over common courtesy.

Even if I did have the money, I still wouldn't participate.

I can usually find everything I'm interested in online for the same price and with free shipping.

Over the last few years, my mom and I have been going out to Black Friday sales. We'll start around 4am, instead of waiting in lines all night. It's not my favorite way to shop, but she enjoys it and we always have a good time together. We're organized, quick, and courteous throughout the whole affair, so I don't see it as adding to any employee's bad experience.

This year, though, I'll be with my boyfriend's family over the holiday and will miss out.

I much prefer to shop online and get my shopping done early. If I'm looking for a deal on a high-ticket item and/or haven't finished shopping I'll try to get online to take advantage of the Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday sales.

I don't leave my house on Black Friday. I guess even 20+ years hasn't been enough for the scars to fade from the many years I worked retail. LOL

Black Friday is the only day of the year that Hubby hands me a credit card and says have fun. He sits home with the kids and I do just about all the Christmas shopping. I buy anything else online usually. But Black Friday is just my "ME" day. I don't get into the fights or anything like that if I miss some deal I'll find another online but seriously I just love the hunt and freedom of running around. I simply have fun with it. Been doing it for years and can only remember one time that I had any problems and that was a long time ago.

I usually start in the early hours but I'm almost always home by 9am. Then it's a matter of getting everything inside without the kids being up or locking kids in a room with hubby til stuff is inside lmao.

I love Black Friday.

I can't afford much, so gifts will be mostly items I can get super-cheap online or scrounge or make or get for free.

If there's a really good coupon I might venture out after the crowds go to sleep, but otherwise I shop on my own schedule or online

Really depends on what kinds of sales they're offering. I will likely hit up at least one, since I'm on the prowl for new beds for my mom and I. Hers is our Christ,as gift from us.

Shopping's already done, gifts are wraped, boxes stuffed with wrapped packages have already been shipped out. I hate crowds and shopping wither there's a sale or not.

It's not worth it. I've had to work retail on Black Friday (my one and only experience with Black Friday shoppers) and it's just not worth it.

I'll stay home and eat leftover cinnamon rolls from the day before. And maybe do some EF shopping.

We make it a point to never leave the house on Black Friday, too many crazed people out for my liking.

My mom and I always shop black Friday, but we stopped doing the midnight stuff. We go at our own pace, although it still feels crazed and exhausting. We have fun though!

It's our girl tradition each year. My mom, sisters and myself go at 10 pm to get in line for 12 am openings. We usually get home at 9 or 10 am. It's worthwhile for us to do this.

I rely on the bus, so I probably won't go, but might get an early morning bus if there's something I really want. For those shopping online, I recommend Amazon's "gold deals" which will have BF specials starting in a few weeks.

Technically I'm done shopping. So it'd have to be an awesome deal on something to get me out this year.

I'll keep an eye out for what's out there. But I guess I'll settle for maybe one or two deals online, if I should find a few good ones.

I'll be working.

Getting yelled at by angry customers who don't understand that I am not responsible for any of their dramas.

i normally wake up every morning at 5am, so waking up at 1 or 2 in the morning to make lines isnt to hard for me to accomplish.

I'd never shop on or near black friday, the crowded areas would freak me out too much. I usually get my shopping done before then or a week after.

I might go out. Depends on the sales and if I find something I want. My birthday is the day before on Thanksgiving, so I might go out to find my gift.

I've been going before dawn for years but I think I'll wait and go later this year. I tried online shopping last year and preferred it more anyway.
