There are a bunch of reviews well over a year old. I usually stumble upon those when I am looking into a product I want. Otherwise I stick to reading the ones that are just published because I can look over them easier. Sometimes I will get on a specific contributor kick though and read all of their reviews which can get into some older ones depending on the contributor. However I don't actively seek out older reviews.
Here it is folks... the very first EF Review. There are a few reviews that published a couple days before this one, but this is the very first review in the system.

I was just thinking I would like to see the oldest review on site. Curiosity and all.
Anybody know any real old reviews?
I think Ben Franklin reviewed a linen "Gentleman's French Envelope" back in 1774, (It's a linen condom.)
I'm kidding. I don't think Poor Richard's Almanac had sex toy reviews. But, wouldn't it have been grand if it had? And Ben Franklin was just the man to do it.

Makes me realize, however, how good some of the "not so good" reviews now are in comparison. And how we should perhaps be a bit less harsh in our judgments...

It's very true, especially for new reviewers. It's a learning process, the whole getting to understand what makes a review optimally helpful, and also developing your writing style as a reviewer. I've been reviewing a year and I still read stuff all the time that makes me think "I never thought to include that, but that would be useful to mention."

Aw, that was sweet! Thanks, Gary!
And yeah, everyone, look how much more useful reviews are now! layouts, expectations, options, all of it!
