My hubby enjoys his hot tea, even if it is 100 degrees plus out. The British in him, I guess. How about you?
Oh HOT days, do you still enjoy HOT drinks, or do you stick with ice cold beverages?

If I drink coffee on a warm day, I start sweating.

I can't usually tolerate hot drinks at any time of year, they make me uncomfortably hot, unless I am freezing cold, after which, I become very warm. I don't drink coffee and rarely have tea, so everything I drink is cold!

I MUST have ice cold drinks on hot days. Only in winter do I drink hot tea or cocoa.

Coffee tricks your brain into thinking your cooling off - it's bizarre but I've done it more than once. The worst thing to drink if you're hot is alcohol but I almost always reach for a glass of iced tea.

Depends on the drink, but I love hot coco all year round!

ice ice baby!

I'm still all for hot drinks. When I worked at a cafe, I had a regular customer from Argentina who always took hot coffee even in the hot summer. He said the extra heat makes your blood vessels (opposite of constrict) and cools you down quicker.
Hot tea for me, though!

Same for spicy food -- the hot spices, like the hot beverage, dilate your blood vessels which increases your sweating and that causes transpiration off your skin which is basically evaporative cooling. However, in high humidity, the effect is greatly lessened because you need the sweat to actually evaporate to create the cooling effect.

I don't sweat much at all, it's part of a condition I have, so I cannot cool myself off like a "regular" person & it is probably why I can't usually drink hot things without overheating.

I like warm tea. If I need to cool down, I'd rather cool drink.

I frequently forget the word I want, the "it's on the tip of my tongue" syndrome & it makes me more mental than I already am! At least we all knew you knew what word you wanted, I hate when someone thinks I'm just too stupid to know what the word is!

Must have hot coffee in the morning, and since I have a summer cold I've been drinking gallons kf hot tea with honey.
07/04/2013
I stay away from hot drinks! Have chilly drinks instead
And water, of course.

I love hot tea all year! I just don't if I'm currently overheating.
Also, this is the first summer I've ever started liking wines that are good cold. 100+ degrees will do that to you.

I love my morning coffee, but on a hot enough day my inner southerner may take over and replace that with a glass of ice tea.

Thank goodness for synonyms in parentheses, right? The bad part is I make similar workarounds when I'm talking. Actually, people seem to call me out on it less when I do that... probably they just assume it's eccentric-professor syndrome.
