Nudism? Anyone?

We know the folks who participate in these forums are VERY open about sexuality and their bodies, but that is VERY different, we believe, then those who are willing to be "open to the world" with their body as part of a nudist or naturist lifestyle.

We understand that nudism and naturism have NOTHING to do with sex, and is a lifestyle/relaxation/v acation choice more akin to the "outdoor/natural lifestyle" movement, BUT....we are wondering if there is any "crossover"?

Are the "open" people here, the same who would be "open" there, to that lifestyle?

So...does anyone here enjoy nudist or naturist lifestyles for vacation or living (outside the home)?

We use to go to the nude beach in California, but that was about the extent of it. Actually signed up once for a "nudist cruise" (clothing optional on-board and visits to nude beaches), but the cruise got cancelled. We are not as young, or "beautiful bodies" as we were then, so honestly, I don't think I would be comfortable doing it now...much as "no one is supposed to judge".

I would, but haven't gotten too into it. I'm a member of the fire spinning community, and nudity among us is not uncommon at all. Every now and then I'll get naked at a retreat or something.

My husband and I have gone to a nude beach a few times and really enjoyed it. We have also gone to several clubs that are both nude rec and lifestyle friendly which are probably the most enjoyable for us. The good part is that with those you get an all adult presence - no minors allowed period - with ID checked at the door for age verification. You can choose to just lay out and read a book, swim in the pool or lake, or get freaky and its all totally cool. As far as the other nudism stuff - I have been invited over to friends several times where we will lay out naked on his beach near the river which is always fun - but can be a little shocking to rafters who happen to float by. I also lay out in my back yard naked all summer long - which has been noticed by at least one neighbor who get upset any time the bushes or trees along our "privacy" fence get to high or thick hehehe. Whatever, if he wants to peak as long as i don't know for sure hes over there that's fine by me Being naked has become a big part of our lives and we are not insecure about it or freaked out about it. We never sleep in anything - naked all the way and in fact spend most of the day running around the hose sans clothing as well. Its all in what you are comfortable with, use to and how you were raised. A lot of folks can't because they have been told forever that its not right or ok - you just have to do what is right for you and respect those who do more, less or nothing at all as their right too.

I would actually love to be a nudist. I find something awesome about being naked... I just feel natural. The only thing is, I live in a neighborhood where the fences are low and the houses are high. We can all easily see each other's heads across the fence, and from any top floor window we can see at least 7 yards around us. We had a guy get reported last week, although cops couldn't do much since it's his property. The only issue for me is that I'd rather not have kids or people I don't know see me.

When the neighbor's kids leave (I babysit them after school) and family is gone, my husband and I are either almost naked or naked like 100% of the time. We only wear underwear (panties/boxers). That's usually on mornings when someone might come over and we need to get dressed quickly.

On vacations we're always naked. In the hotel we never wear clothes. I think we would make great nudists if we were in the right situations.

seems to be more crossover than in the general public, but still not that much if you're going to normal nudist places instead of lifestyle ones.

I wouldn't feel insecure either, it's amazing how comfortable, as well as actually non-sexual, it is. Also the crowd is honestly probably less fit and attractive on average than at a normal beach, so I wouldn't worry about not looking good enough or any body issues you have.
