New Year’s Resolutions Poll

Contributor: Stellar Stellar
So here is the themed poll I’ve promised!
Each an everyone of us is promising ourselves to become a better person the next year. This year we deem to be the best year to look back, make some conclusions, finally stop the endless race and start being thankful for what we have and we have accomplished already.

Let’s go through the most popular resolutions people make, mark those you’ve tried to achieve or achieved, maybe, then brag in the comments with your big success so we can congratulate you, encourage you to go further and grant the most impressive achievements with a $50 Gift Card!

You should check out our SEXolutions list before you start, just to get in the mood a bit

Great poll, I am not making any resolutions this year, I just want it to be a better year than last year.

I checked off several of the above that I have focused on before. This year I didn't make a resolution as much as a commitment to myself to learn something new. I joined an udemy class on photography. Maybe I'll learn how to use my camera once and for all.

My biggest accomplishment is being able to spend more time with my family. My kids are my life and I cherish the time I have with them while they are still young. (Even the incessant fighting with each other. )

I usually don't make a particular resolution, however my main focus for this year would be to work on being more organized.

I voted for getting an inspiring job. Being a nurse by day, in 2012 I got the job I always wanted, however I am ready to make a change. I hope this year I can move forward in my nursing career to a more detailed/specialty nursing job. I have plans in the spring to do just that! I hope this year I can FINALLY get my dream of dreams job!

I checked off lots on the list. Some I've accomplished and some didn't last more than a couple days (stressing less, etc.) I also chose other for spending less money (also one that never lasts long lol) and being more honest about what I wamt/need out of life at this point in my life.

I didn't make any resolutions this year, but I'm determined to finish my current book and to get my business off the ground before the end of the 2016.

I think that the biggest resolution I've achieved so far was becoming a model. It took the diet stuff, the workout stuff, the travel and it's definitely an inspiring and fulfilling job. I lost thirty pounds and got in pretty great shape, dedicated myself to a skincare routine, I cook almost all my meals and learned how to take a good picture (which was one of the hardest parts of this whole thing, I swear). I mean, it's far from a lifelong career - I'm doing it to put myself through medical school - but I worked very hard to get here. It takes a lot more time management, as I'm doing it on top of a full-time class schedule, so that's another thing that I've learned how to do. I sew a lot, and I've been working in some custom pieces to pictures, which is kind of a cherry on top. It's been a blast, and I'm really happy with what I've done so far.

As for future resolutions, I've got a 4.0 GPA at one of the top universities in the country, I work and volunteer in a hospital and I'm doing research for an amazing doctor. I should be graduating this April, and then it won't be too long until I make it to MD status.

I guess what I would really like this year is to get smarter and get a more toned body. I have tons of dumbbells at home and I keep slacking. I want to get a really toned and sculpted abs. Losing weight isn't a problem but sculpting myself is. Also, I want to stop wasting money on fastfood, I don't eat it often, maybe once every other week but I really hate myself when I buy it. I swear, it's more addictive than prescription drugs.

I think it's the salt in the food. Like chips, can't eat just 1 or 2.
Fast food places are all over the place and so convenient.

Have you tried doing the stomach crunches by lying on bed or mat and pulling legs to chest. Less strain on the back and effective. Also swirling with knees bent is same position after pulling to chest. Also helps to loosen the back.

Just a suggestion. I'm not a trainer.

My dear community! I think enough time has passed, we all had something to think about and, maybe, add a couple of new New Year's resolutions to our list...

But it's time to decide who gets the $50 Gift Card!

I believe that we have an obvious progress with an obvious level of awesomeness. @Surreptitious, I think you should be really, deeply proud of yourself. You are an example. Never stop going forward. Congratulations on your accomplishements, and please, be so kind to receive our humble gift of encouragement.

You are the sweetest person, Stellar, seriously. Thank you so much for the nice words, and I'm honored to have achieved something else beautiful because of this - I can't wait! I will strive to continue to work hard this semester and get one step closer to my endgame. xox

I hope that everyone achieves their goals this year, whether they're "new years resolutions" or not.
