I have used it, but I have Windows 7. When I bought this laptop, one of the major bonuses for me was that it DIDN'T have Windows 8. It's not overly hard to me, but I don't like it at all. Why did they take a good thing and screw it up? :-/

Seems like everyone's feeling the same way about Window's 8 as they did about Window's Vista. I missed Vista and have Window's 7. I'm nervous about getting a new laptop with Window's 8 'cause I haven't heard anything good about it so far.

It's interesting with a touch screen, but I've run into very few people who like it.

I hate it, and I don't like that all the new computers come with it and if you want to downgrade, then you void your warranty. It's ridiculous. I thought I'd get used to it, but after about 4-5 months, I still find myself getting irritated with it. There are a lot less programs with it too. As Sammi mentioned, it would be nice as a touch screen, but if I wanted that option, I'd buy a tablet. I saw it in action on a computer the store had that was touch screen, but I just don't like the idea of a touch screen unless it's a phone, e-reader, or tablet device.
I don't like having to drag my mouse to the edge of the screen to access the Start menu, then go to it to open Word or some other program, then go back to my desktop. I liked being able to stay on the desktop, click Start in the corner and have direct access to all my programs.
I haven't even tried using this webcam yet because it will probably bug me to no end.
I honestly don't think I'll ever like it, but it looks like I'm S.O.L because they told me at the store that there were a few in the store with Windows 7 but now you will only be able to get a new computer with Windows 8.

Its a love hate for me because I love the way it looks like a tablet but sometimes It accidentally switches to other tasks that might be open especially if my mouse gets near the top left. Other than the accidental switching from browser to calender or to any other app It is nice.

Looks like i might be saving up for a mac, I was really hoping that you would all say its amazing and great, but nope. Every time i get on it i go to the internet and it always seems to get stuck in the internet, i want an e to click and have it go away but no it doesn't have that simple little thing. If i wanted programs and such like that i would get a phone. This sucks. Thanks for all your input.

well due to the nature of my job, i work on all different platforms. i'm using things ranging even back to windows 95, and occasionally on the older systems i have a slight dilemna because xp and 7 are more prolific and slightly different. HOWEVER - 8 has been the biggest learning curve for me. at first glance i was entirely confused and annoyed. even months later i'm still kinda confused and annoyed while trying to navigate through and find things. personally i purchased a new laptop in january, it came with windows 8 and i reverted it down to windows 7.

i hate windows 8. <<<< simply hate it.

I can't stand it. I am sick of it crashing every two weeks. I can't put anything on it because if it crashes I have to restore back to factory if I can't do a regular restore. The rest of it did not take me long to learn within 3 days I was using it.

I just got a new Sony Vaio E Series last month. It has crashed on me 6 times already. If I could go back to Windows 7 I would.

Love it! Mine does not crash at all and my computer boots in about 7 seconds! I didn't like the tile interface so I found a way to permanently disable it and use the Windows 7 interface. Found the hack on some website I don't recall. Oh, and I got my copy of Windows 8 pro 64-bit for $16.

Its ok but you really need a touch screen in my opinion to get the biggest bang for your buck.

I think it looks terrible. The tile interface reminds me of a child's play computer or something. I'll stick with Vista until they come up with something better!

I've used everything from Windows 96 (In a foster care home) to Windows 8. My old Dell was a Windows XP, and the perk to my Windows 7 was that I could move the programs on the menu bar instead of having to close out of a program just to have it where I want it when my OCD decides to hit, but I've used Windows 8 on my mom's computer.
I hate it. I couldn't find nothing, it was confusing that my 15 year old sister had to show me how to work it.
