I just deleted the alert that tells me people are following me. So I like when they tell me or I wouldn't notice.

I'm sorry I didnt think that would be annoying to people. I always like it when people follow me so I thought if I did the same thing people would feel the same as i do. I'll try to keep this in mind when I follow other people...

I always thank people for following me, so I see it as kind of a formality. It doesn't bother me, but it also doesn't just thrill me and make me happy. I'd RATHER them say something personal, but I'd rather have "Hey! I'm following you now!" than nothing at all.

I don't mind, but I don't pay attention to my wall. I started saying it because I saw other people doing the same and figured it was an established practice, like saying "thanks for the review". I figure it's a little thing that says "hi" like any other greeting formality.... if I got my point across there. XD

I don't have e-mail alerts on so I don't mind it. It's almost nice to see something new on my wall, even if it is just someone letting me know that they're following.

I've changed my email settings, and you can too. It is simple, just don't get those emails anymore!

If you do not want to hear about the follow---change your notifications!! I have NEVER gotten an email just for following or wall comments, and other things I can find out just by looking at my wall.

I love getting honest followers and try to make sure I return the courtesy. It is part of being in an interactive, close-knit community. If something irritates me, I turn off the notification and then I am over it.

I add a bunch of people so I can operate primarily from my profile. If you are not someone I am following it is less likely I will read your review.
I think a lot of people do this so it makes me happy when people follow me, more readers for my reviews! If you work hard on your reviews just knowing those people might read them is great : )

(I do it a little too, although I usually try to say something personal or go on their reviews and read a couple.)
