I grew up in an English speaking household; I began studying spanish in the first grade, and picked up Russian by fifth grade. Although I don't remember any Russian, I think that being surrounded by so many languages and cultures has definitely helped me with my language skills.

I was raised with English and I know a few lines in Spanish, French and German but not enough to flow with a conversation, mostly pleasantries. I also know Sign Language.

English is all I speak, I would like to learn conversational Klingon though.

My dad was VERY French and my mom is VERY English. So I was raised with both.

I was raised bilingual Spanish and English.

Does Klingon count as bilingual?

French is my native tongue, although I did hear some english on one side of my family, it wasn't until I started school at 5, that I started to learn english. I learned a bit of spanish when I was 11 bcs I went to Cuba but I haven't kept up practice of my touristy spanish words.

My situation is exactly the same. I was raised with both and I went to a french school from kindergarden until grade 12.

That's awesome. I wish I was bilingual. I would buy Rosetta Stone to learn another language if I wasn't always spending my money on Eden.

almost fluent in Spanish. Took a little German and French (not very advanced). I miss German a lot. I love that language.

I know enough French to get by but English is my native tongue.

Took Spanish in high school and concentrating in Chinese in college, native language is English though.

English is my fist language but I can get by speaking Thai with my mom. Though, my reading and writing is better.
I know a little bit of French but that's it.

I wish I was fluent in a second language, its much easier to pick up and use correctly when you learn it at a younger age.

I grew up only speaking English. I took like 6 years of French but it's been almost 10 years since then. I do remember some and if I force myself to start saying things more comes back to me.
I also know a very small amount of Spanish and a tiny bit of Japanese. I was taking Japanese this semester but ended up withdrawing, the whole 17 credits thing was a bit too much with my other responsibilities.
My son knows a small amount of Japanese as well. He might know more words than me, truthfully.

S'ok we are teaching our kids polish as our life partner's family all speaks polish. So he will be bilingual and our girls will have a working knowledge of it.

My first languages are Finnish and English. I'm also near fluent in German and a smattering of very poor French.

My first language is Russian. And I'm trying to make my English better right here and right now
