OK, so today on my personal Facebook, someone was deciding whether to read Tolkein or Lewis. I commented and said, "Lewis. He's easier to read." Then her brother backed up my decision and said, "Lewis. He has a movie coming out this year." Someone else voted for Tolkein with some vague reference about a different best selling book. (bear with me, this is where the humor comes in.)
So a gal replies: "Yeah. Someone needs to make a Lord of the Rings movie." Of course, I'm thinking, ok, she's either been underground for the last decade or she's being facetious...
So I reply: "yeah. someone should do that. Or Peter Jackson could just re-release the extended versions in theaters, in 3D, with free Hobbit slippers or something! You know, go all James Cameron on the situation."
Then I take it one step further and say: "And then 3 months later, he can re-release it again in theaters, still in 3D, only a slightly extended theatrical version, with collectible 3D glasses that have prosthetic elven ears on them. For the low, low price of $20/ticket."
I thought it was funny. Really funny, actually. Apparently, I'm not funny??? I got nothing... more people commenting on her decision process.
