what do you think of this show? i don't really watch it that much, but i do see commercials for it a lot. i just saw 1 for a woman who is addicted to carrying around an urn w/ her husband's ashes in it. on top of that, she's started eating his ashes. i know everyone grieves in their own way, but this has to be the weirdest addiction that i've seen so far.
my strange addiction

um.... They made a show about this? Seems kind of sad rather than fascinating.

I've seen ones about people eathing light bulbs, couch foam, ashes, and detergent.
My favorite episode was the guy in love with his Real Doll. He referred to it as his wife, talked to her, cuddled her, went shopping for her, did photoshoots with her . . .

Those shows are dis-empowering and harmful to the people portrayed in them. Some of those people have just unusual taste but some need real psychological/psychiat ric help and not to be gawked on by the mob.
I used to watch "How clean is your house?" but stopped when I realized I was mostly delighting in other people's misery. The people who qualified for the show lived in houses that were so filthy that they posed serious health risks. There were small children in some of those homes. If you have Klebsiella, E. Coli and Yersinia all over your kid's room you either need a shrink or a to be locked up in jail.

I watch Intervention a lot, but not to be entertained by people's misery. I'm studying substance abuse counseling, and I truly feel for those people.
