Our household seems computer heavy, but really we just keep our dinosaurs going forever.
I personally have (from newest to oldest): an ASUS EEE PC clamshell style netbook (6 mos old), a Compaq 15.5 laptop (1 year old), an ollllld Emachines laptop 17.5 (at least 6 years old), and an ancient HP desktop media center pc (7 years old) with snazzy CRT monitor.
Thank god for large capacity flash drives and external hard drives. I have no faith in computers not breaking down. I try to back my shit up in triplicate. The HD in the HP desktop went bad after 4 years and luckily I only lost 20% of my pics, music and docs - I replaced it though, and still use the computer as my jukebox bc I have a kickass speaker set hooked up to it (sub-woofer!). The Emachines charging port is messed up and will not recharge, so it only works plugged in.
Gary has his own stories and computer list. Although, and this is cutesie... we have matching laptops (two times over!).
