Can I have a crude geek? I prefer skinny over muscles, but I don't want a "goody-two-shoes." My boyfriend is on the smaller side, but has no problem speaking his mind, and can definitely be crude.
12/07/2011
I only go after nerds/geeks and they have been VERY attractive and nice, with the addition of knowing what to do in bed or learning quickly. (I hate muscleheads/jocks, too self absorbed and large muscles gross me out.)
12/07/2011
I only date geeks/nerds. 'Must have better grades than me' and 'be some form of computer major' are practically requirements.
Any hint that I coudl be smarter than him is a big turn off...so I try to avoid taking classes with boys I'm interested in.

geeky is cute!!
12/07/2011
can I get a sexy muscly man that has manners? cause if he doesn't have both, I won't give him the time of day.
12/07/2011
Geekiness is a definite requirement for me, as is being a nice guy. Trust me, the two characteristics don't always go together. My ex was a bit of a nerd, but turned out to be an asshole on the nice scale.
12/07/2011
geeks FTW
12/07/2011
I prefer a nice guy.

I LOVE nerdy boys. I actually have an ideal type: Reid from Criminal Minds. All my celeb crushes fit into his tall, skinny, pale and smart. Glasses are super sexy, too.

Sense of humor is a must, even better if he is a geek!
12/08/2011
I'll take the geek please
12/08/2011
Sense of humor, knowing his way around the computer (and me) , and being nice are requirements for me But, I'm bi, so I like my women to have most of these too >_>
12/08/2011
Definitely prefer geeks. All my bfs have been geeks. They tend to make better convo, be nicer, and be much less self-absorbed.
12/08/2011
Geek ALL the way! I love intelligence.
12/08/2011
I don't think I've ever met anyone who fell 100% into either of those categories, so I don't know.
12/08/2011
I like geeky girls. ;D
12/08/2011
There needs to be a physical attraction. And i dont like a TOO nice of guy.

Geek all the way, preferably the gamer type but one who knows when to put the game down and give me attention, whether for intimacy or just having adult conversations.

geeks. just something about them makes me want to ravage them in bed.
12/12/2011
I love my computer gamer geek! The gaming makes him great with his hands! Our intelligence is pretty comparable, though I fair much better in school. He doesn't put in the effort in school, he'd rather be playing games.
12/18/2011
DEFINITELY geeks. Muscles are actually a turn off for me.
Plus I like corrupting people, haha

What about a well-built geek? My hubby is small built but he's a black belt in martial arts so he's defined not bulky.

Ever watch "Beauty and the Geek"? Some of those boys cleaned up quite nicely, tyvm!!!

I'm a guy, and I want to make a point:
It's much easier to ask the Geek to work out/train and build muscles/improve his appearance, than to ask a muscular jock/tough guy to be intelligent, sensitive, and considerate.
A great body takes dedication and a few months of work. An intelligent mind is much more difficult. A considerate heart - sometimes you can't train or teach those things, they either learn it or have it, or they don't.
Just my two cents.

um, what? First of all, that's an incredibly unfair stereotype to carry. Not all "muscleheads" ; are stupid because they take care of their bodies. It just means they take care of their bodies; it's only a physical thing, and it gives NO insight of personality or intelligence. It's like looking at a woman with huge breasts, blonde hair and a tiny waist and immediately think "she must be unkind and vapid because she only takes care of her physical appearance." That's a terrible and completely unfair assumption to make.

Also, to develop a good body with solid muscles takes YEARS not months. The human body is capable of great things but it needs to be trained vigorously for long periods of time. Actually, if you talk to body builders, you'll find that they have a knowledge of the human body that is almost unrivaled, except by doctors or whatever.
Yes intelligence and consideration are hard to obtain, but it can happen with with reading books and lots of them. Consideration, unless I'm mistaken isn't some genetic predisposition, and because of that, I'm quite sure anyone can be considerate. Just pay attention to the needs and desires of those around you.
yeah, um, done with my rant.
12/22/2011
Must be a geek, because anyone else would not be interested in me or hold my interest. I'm extremely geeky, and I tend to find people who are more mainstream kind of boring. I'm sure they find me boring too, since most hobbies are boring to people who don't share them.
12/22/2011

12/22/2011
I always prefer the geek over a muscle head. You tend to run into muscle heads with a bad attitude, that will never treat you right.

Give me the geek any day, the sight of an overly muscled man is pretty much an instant turn off for me no matter how amazing a guy he might be.
01/16/2012
I'm assuming that in this scenario my girlfriend lets me have a boyfriend. In this case I'll take easy on the eyes. I already have a soul mate in my girlfriend. I don't care if the "sancho" is smart or a good person. I want a hard body to play with.
01/16/2012
Most of us say "geek" but I don't believe that many of us would actually chose "geek" over "muscles"
02/03/2012
I always wondered this: Why is the assumption (at least with the general population) that geeks are automatically unattractive? Or that there's only one kind of geek?
It's true, I'd like the best of both worlds, but I'd much rather have someone I can actually talk to and connect with. If I can't connect with the muscle-guy in a conversation, it's not going to happen.

Though to say it less rudely, you'd be surprised how many people would actually go with the geek. To reiterate my post: I'd much rather have someone I can actually talk to. If the muscle-guy also grooves with my mind, then great, but it he can't then it's not going to go anywhere. I feel that a friend is better than eye candy, if you can't have both.
02/03/2012
I prefer a "geek" but just because someone is intellectual and nice doesn't mean they can't have an awesome body, and be good looking. I think that to say geek or muscles is just like saying blondes are stupid and brunettes don't have good bodies, it's old and slightly cliche.

What I said was, it is much easier for someone to get muscle-toned, than for someone to learn to be intelligent or be overly intellectual. I'm going by Wikipedia's definition here: a "geek" ... [has a] general pejorative meaning of "a peculiar or otherwise dislikable person, esp[ecially] one who is perceived to be overly intellectual".
I'm not questioning the knowledge of body builders about body-building, nor am I questioning the knowledge of geeks about their fields of expertise. I am merely stating that it is much easier to hone the body than hone the mind.
Actors in Hollywood do it all the time, go from completely out of shape to ripped out in a few months. Yes they have trainers and bodybuilders help them, but they can achieve that effect in a few months.
Now try to get someone, anyone, to hone their intelligence, intellectual prowess, in a few months.
02/05/2012
I also want to point out that the original post concerns slang terms of said stereotypes, of a "geek" vs. a "musclehead." ; ; I've already stated the wikipedia definition above, but there is no entry for "musclehead." ; ; Instead, I get redirected to "jock," which I understand to be synonymous to "musclehead" for the intents and purposes of this post (correct me if I'm wrong).
My point is, I wasn't trying to portray "unfair stereotypes," but if you do think you have an issue with stereotypes, the fundamental question of this post, geek vs. musclehead, is in itself stereotypical. Also, the definition of geek refers to their intellectual prowess, but the definition of musclehead/jock only refers to their physical prowess.
I think the OP's intention was to ask which people preferred, in reference to the dichotomy popularized by media between "geeks" and "muscleheads." Wikipedia entry under "jocks" has a paragraph on this dichotomy.

I am really not attracted to either type. I guess I will be a lesbian for the sake of this post. Though I am really not attracted to women sexually. We are human, we are all selfish. I generally find human unattractive nowadays.
