Many people think MSG is used rarely, namely in Chinese cuisine. The reality is that MSG is in most packaged/processed foods these days. Through a loophole in the labeling laws, it can be under a variety of names, such as 'spices', 'hydrolyzed protein', 'natural flavors', etc. About half of people have some noticeable reaction to MSG, usually neurological-headaches , confusion, etc. For all of us though, MSG makes us want to eat more even when we're full, contributing to obesity. MSG is a potent neurotoxin. I'm wondering how everyone else feels about MSG?

I can taste MSG. It does not give me any negative health reactions but it simply tastes bad. It is like eating fake food. I try to avoid it as much as possible.

I try to avoid it, and I buy mostly natural and organic foods so they usually don't have as much of that added to it. I don't fuss too much though if I'm in a situation where I have to eat something with it in it.

Never gave it much thought since I don't have an allergy for it.

I try to avoid it. Wish they made food with out it cheaper though can't afford to spend that extra green on organic food you know what I'm sayin.

I avoid it when I can but I don't go out of my way to banish it from my diet. I eat a lot of homemade food and try to eat little processed foods so there's little MSG in my diet anyways.

I have heard so much about it and avoid it if possible, but I don't go crazy looking into it.

I think concerns are overblown on MSG. People dont know that almost every form of "salt" used in food is not real salt. If you are that concerned, buy "naturally evaporated sea salt". even table salt you pick up at the store is not real natural salt.

I don't really pay attention to it.

I avoid it. Gives my husband terrible migrane headaches.

I try to avoid it but I don't worry about it.

MSG gives me really strange dreams - I avoid it all costs.

I try to avoid it. I normally cook at home anyway from natural ingredients.

From my basic knowledge (from reading up) on MSG, I have no doubt that it's very harmful. I avoid it when I can, but don't stress myself sick if I do end up ingesting it. I am extremely health conscious, so I like to know everything I can about what I eat, what's in it and what it will do to me. MSG should absolutely, without a doubt be banned.

I get extremely thirsty, and sometimes a very dry throat, after consuming food with MSG, and had to drink fruit juice to ease the effect. MSG is almost impossible to avoid, unless you do not cook with any store-bought condiments/spice mixes, eat any processed food, or eat at restaurants.

My former girlfirend had to go to hospital after having a high-MSG meal. (We are talking about MonoSodiumGlutamate, aren't we)
I avoid it because I'm in love with my brain. MSG is linked with dementia and ADD.
