Meet Your Meat!!

So, have you ever seen the video, by PETA? (I know, PETA is crazy, but they do make a lot of good points. I feel they take some "light" things so far, just so they get results with the more serious stuff)

This video is so gross, and totally changed the way I look at, and buy meats. I refuse to buy Tyson chicken now. If its Tyson brand, I can't buy it. It almost makes me gag looking at their packaged chicken in the stores now.

Anyways, heres the video::

I dislike PETA and a lot of their shock-and-awe tactics. That being said, I have been a vegetarian my entire life and I stand by my decision.

Very good for you! I so wish I could go vegan. Maybe if I lived in an area that offers more grocery stores, and different food options. Its just too expensive here. and in our wal-mart, we literally only have 1 cooler of vegan food! i feel ripped off! and to drive to a health food store, i have to spend over $30 in gas, and drive over 2 hours!!

I like PETA for their shock value SOMETIMES! some of it is SO over the top! But for the younger crowds (teens to 20s) it really leaves an effect, and gets them to think!

Yeah, but, they have a real issue with alienating people for no good reason. Have you seen their ads about "Save the Whales" targeting large women? I think a lot of their advertising is cruel, insensitive and thoughtless.

When I was a vegan I ended up making almost everything from scratch, and bought whole grains (brown rice, quinoa, etc.) beans and/or tofu, and then fresh veggies. Vegan replacement foods get way too expensive.

I'm not a vegetarian, but i Don't like their Shock and awe tactics either. I'm against brutally killing animals, too, though.

I'm a vegetarian, but don't pay much/if any attention to PETA. They just go overboard.

I got very interested in the U.S. food "industry" after seeing Super Size Me many years ago. I hear Earthlings is the ultimate, it's on my HDD but I can't get myself to watch it yet.

I became a vegetarian after seeing Food Inc. Earthlings is supposed to be really intense, and I think I would cry watching it.

I am a vegetarian, but I'm not a fan of PETA's tactics, either.

That being said, I could never go vegan because I like cheese and Italian food (yay eggplant parmigiana!) too much.

Elona, I couldn't agree more. PETA has done some good work, but they constantly use either dumb or immoral tactics to send their messages.

Even though the nude photos for their anti-fur ads are sexy, I don't know why they have to use sex appeal to talk about animal cruelty. I doubt anyone would use sexy models in lingerie to talk about child abuse. Also, it's kind of insulting to their target audience. I like sex, but I'm smart enough to do the right thing without being bribed with sex.

PETA's latest stunt of course is very dumb. They went out of their way to compare aquariums, like Sea World, to slavery. Didn't they consider that millions of people would get angry about that comparison.
