I'm on the fence about it. Is it really safe to be high and have young children in your care while high? How about driving or working while high?

Yes, I've been high before and several times. I quit getting high years ago. My answer to the questions I asked is no way.

I'm on the fence because, what if this starts to become a bigger issue if it's legalized? (Working, driving, taking care of children, etc. while being high).

Do I care if people get high? Not if they are being responsible.

I feel it should be legalized and regulated and actually did a poll to see who was for it or against it.

I use it myself for pain, never if I'm going to be driving within a few hours, never while at work, and only small amounts if I have to take care of something important (such as caring for children should be done with caution, other things similar should be taken care of as well) plus you don't want to be an incoherent public menace

Regulated, it would be easy to know who has it and how much they have as well. Which means parents would also have more control over their kids' choices.

I don't see a reason it shouldn't be legalized. It's a taxable item that can be controlled. It can create jobs. Stop with government spending for the war on Marijuana. It helps cancer patients and many other kind of patients with all sorts of issues. I see nothing but benefits for the legalization. It just needs to be regulated like alcohol and tobacco.

Sure people shouldn't drive high on marijuana, but they shouldn't drive while intoxicated on any substance. You shouldn't go to work high either, that is common sense, not a real reason not to legalize marijuana. It's common knowledge not to go to work drunk and alcohol is legal.

You make valid points that I 100% agree with. I didn't say that I'm fully against it. I just said that I was on the fence at this time.

I would also have to say I am on the fence about it. It's like many things in life, there are a lot of negatives and positives too it. A lot will boil down to personal responsibility of individuals.

I think it should be legal, and regulated like alcohol

It should either be legalized or decriminalized. I don't see any problem with it unless it is effecting your daily life with work and such. My mom had a botched back surgery a year ago and smoking has greatly helped reduce her pain.

Sure, as long as kids couldn't have access to it. Maybe make an age limit of 18 and up? And I agree with Michele, it's not a good idea to be high when you have young kids in your care when you need to be fully alert with them!!

Legalized, regulated, and taxed. If you make it nothing special, a lot of people would lose interest in it.

Yes because it is relatively harmless. Yes, people become psychologically addicted to it and can do stupid things under the influence, but you could say the same of sugar or caffeine.

Yes, it should be legal everywhere and taxed/regulated the same as alcohol and cigarettes are taxed regulated today. It's less addictive and causes less harm (to the user and to others) than either booze or tobacco. I haven't used it in years, but if it were legal, I would probably indulge on special occasions.

Hmmm...

I'm sure we do have enough "loafs", but is continued prohibition a good answer for that? I don't think it is. The failed "war on drugs" has been ineffective, terribly expensive and destructive to a lot of lives.

Also, don't we have enough lung cancer? Should we then outlaw cigarettes? Certainly, there's too much drunk driving, drunken spousal abuse, etc. Should we ban booze? I could go on, but I think you see the problem with that argument.
