I ask this as a serious question, because I really do wonder what one would do.
I work in a motel. You'd be surprised of the things people leave behind: weapons, drugs, clothes (namely underwear), shoes, glasses, etc. I have even found sex toys.
Just recently I found a rabbit vibrator, still in the box, left on the nightstand in a check out room, used condom wrappers scattered around it. It was this toy: link
The funny thing is, it was a guy who rented the room... and he was a regular guest, too. But I don't think he ever came to pick it up from lost and found.
So my question is this: if you left a sex toy in a motel/hotel, would you go to the front desk and tell them and try to get it back? Or would you leave it behind? Has it ever happened to you guys before and what did you do?
I think I'd try to get it back. Toys are expensive and the last thing I would want to do is leave it behind. The front desk would already know I was in that room anyway, and when they find items they bag them and put a ticket on it with limited personal information, so what's the real harm in coming to pick it up? Sure slight embarrassment, but I'd rather come and get it than have them stare at it for 30+ days before it's tossed.
