I have both. We have one desktop and three laptops but one is broken and one sucks. The one I'm on now is a powerhouse, though. It rivals a lot of desktop computers.

We have both in our home. My wife needs to be mobile most of the time with all her work online and what not, so she has a laptop. Her old laptop is set up on the TV for watching netflix and letting the older kids play online (of course, with the bookmarked, preapproved sites) and I have my gaming computer (Desktop). Theres no way that I could afford a laptop that would be able to have enough power to run all the games I play (MW3 and counterstrike)

I have a really nice desktop, laptops just cant compare to the power......and I have a netbook that was a terrible buy and really cant do anything with it. Looking to get an ipad and macbook soon.

Desktops are waaaaaaaaaaaaaayway more reliable than laptops, so whenever I can I go with that instead of laptops! But I do have laptops, and as my desktop has been messed up for a while I use them until it gets fixed by my OnlyMaster Who knows machines inside and out... ^^
