My boyfriend just recently built his own computer and I'm going to have a new custom-built laptop shipped to me in a week or so. What kind of computer/laptop do you have? I assume you have one or how else are you here?

I wanted to build my most recent computer, but I decided to get an ASUS from Best Buy. Literally it was the best buy, originally a $475-$500 computer (online and other stores I checked) was only $356 at Best Buy. Was a clearance and display deal. It's a very solid Desktop, most of the hardware is from the same manufacturer/brand which keeps it more stable. It runs like a beast for being a dual core not a 4, or 6 core. I'm happy with it Maybe one day I will build my own when I have money.

I don't think I ever owned a Gateway brand one. However I did own 2 emachines before. I think they are basically Gateway with a different brand name lol. But those seems to work good for 2 years before the overall stability of the system decided to stop working.

I have a Toshiba laptop. Overall, I like it alright. Runs fast enough for my needs, and doesn't seem to overheat at all -- which is surprising, as I have it on pretty much all the time, and use it constantly.
It costs about $500, so it's certainly not top of the line..but it's nice enough.

Both the computer and the laptop that we got are over $1000 each so they're pretty awesome. Mine is going to have the currently best video card for laptops so I'm pretty excited. He got a school loan so we could get these. My laptop right now is missing a key and some don't work. My 4 is on the tilde, my tilde is on the Caps Lock (and therefore, I don't have a Caps Lock), and my right Alt key is actually the Esc key. It's basically a broken piece of crap. Lol.

@ SMichelle: I'm using a Toshiba laptop right now. It'd be okay (but not nearly good enough for my gaming needs) if mine weren't old and broken.

I have an Acer. Bought it from Best Buy for 250, originally 500. It was a great deal. I almost got 2 of them.

I have an Asus netbook and a custom build desktop. I used Asus, Corsair, Intel, and EVGA parts in the desktop. Running Slackware Linux on the netbook, and Windows 7 on the desktop. Both run very well. I'm definitely an Asus person. (:

I wanted an Alienware laptop (because they look cool) but it was ridiculously priced. I got a MUCH better laptop for a lower price than I would have at Alienware for the same price.

I own two. They are both DELL. One is an Inspiron 600m; and my newest is a Dell XPS (L502X) [bought at COSTCO] which has a 1GB graphics card, 8MB ram, and 750MB hard drive (used for business). The old one runs on Windows XP Professional and the new one on Windows 7 Pro. They still both work great!

I am on my second Toshiba, and I am a HUGE fan of these laptops. I have had very few problems with my Toshibas. In the past I've had eMachines, HPs and a couple others I can't remember - and I've had the least problems with my Toshibas. I'll probably stay brand loyal for a while longer.
