Joker at the Batman Rises Premiere....

So my S/O seems to think that the whole shooting thing in Co. was put on by the gov to make us afraid of guns and vote more easily for gun control. He has all kinds of reasons he thinks this...all of which is way too much for me to go into in any kind of depth, but I was wondering what others thought about this?

I'm not sure, but a lot of the things he has brought to my attention DOES make sense......idk.

Pure conspiracy theory nonsense, there are so many thing wrong with that idea it hilarious. When any major event happens people create these type of theories, 9/11, capturing Bin Laden, etc. It is a defensive mechanism, it is easier for some to believe in some vast improbably conspiracy then to see the simple truth.

No, I don't think that this was put on by the government at all. No offense to your significant other, but I think that that theory is absolutely ridiculous.

This was a tragedy, people were killed, innocent families were terrorized. If this was an act of the government, not only would that be unfathomable, but it would have a reverse effect. More people will want to be prepared to take someone down now that they are scared.

I don't understand why people keep thinking that this horrific event was caused by the government. I'm not fond of our government but, I don't believe they had a hand in this..
