Is the voice in your head when you think actually YOURS?

Contributor: surreptitious surreptitious
I've had this discussion with a few friends of mine, and I want to take it to Eden to see what you guys have to say.

When you're thinking and get that inner-monologue sort of business, is it actually your speaking voice that you hear? For my friends and I, our "thinking voices" aren't the same as our speaking voices.

Also, now that I've made you aware of your thinking voice and you can't stop hearing it, I may as well also draw attention to the fact that you can now feel your tongue in your mouth. Gotcha.

PS, You're also breathing manually. Think about it.

Were the last 2 sentences really necessary???? Lol

Inner voice is different than my talking voice. Still female but deeper and calmer than my regular voice I think? The voice of my thoughts sounds very level. But I always sound like shit when I hear myself recorded anyway.

They were 100% necessary. I mean, I probably didn't think them through, because if I had then I'd have realized that I'm not just sharing the love with my fellow Edenites and now I am now going to be breathing manually every time I check back in on this thread, but they were totally necessary.

When I am upset or sarcastic in my head, I hear my voice but when I am thinking about things it is a softer more 'feeling' type voice.

Mine's similar, but slightly different. I have a hard time explaining it.

I just had to think sarcastic thoughts, and I think that my sarcasm voice is STILL different from my regular voice. I dunno, it has all of my inflections and speaking patterns, but the pitch isn't the same.

I think I hear my own voice but then again we Libra's are so indecisive and normally choose our second thought over our first. I hate that.

I'm not a Libra, but every time I do that on a multiple choice test, I always wind up being wrong. xD

My voice, but I always think my voice is deeper than it sounds on recordings.

My voice! It's nicer inside my head though.
