I was with my ex for about 5 months and things didn't work out. His brother started talking to me on Facebook, then through texting and phones. After about a month and a half, we started dating. It is a little difficult with my ex still around bugging us, but I'm happy. Is it wrong to be happy?
Is it wrong/weird to date an ex's sibling?

i say yes only because you say that its difficult to be around your ex. i think that you should be able to get along with your significant other's family and that there shouldn't be tension between family members. perhaps overtime you all will reach that point and all can be well.

I don't think it's inherently wrong, but it seems like it'd be very weird for your ex, at least at first. I hope it all works out okay.
My ex has a way older, married sister who I hardly know and a younger brother who I can't imagine ever being attracted to, so I can't say I've ever thought much about such a dilemma.

I think everyone has the right to be happy no matter the circumstance.

I don't think it's wrong, but I would think it would be a little weird. But then again, once someone is my ex, I never see or hear from them again, so that is why this situation would be weird for me. Hope it works out for you!

it is not wrong to be happy but i would not be dating my ex's relation that would be weird

It's not wrong to be happy and you love who you love, but if you end up staying together with him, I see a lifetime of family awkwardness in your future.
07/14/2012
It seems awkward for sure, but if it has long term potential you shouldn't limit yourself. I think for a fling it wouldn't be worth it.
07/14/2012
I think it is a little weird. But you know, what ever makes you happy. You're happiness is all that matters, not what anyone thinks.
07/14/2012
I can see where it could be a difficult situation, but in the long run....you have to determine what is right for you.
07/14/2012
I don't think there's anything wrong with it as long as the break up was clean and there was no cheating involved.
07/14/2012
I couldn't do it. It would be too awkward.
07/14/2012
maybe a little weird but not wrong

It's not wrong but awkward as hell. The family would question you and it's something that would never go away because it could potentially divide the family.

its never wrong to be happy. in my opinion, having brothers of my own id be pretty irritated with him if he pulled something like that on me. but if your happy be happy. dont let anyone get in your way. just realize that it is most likely gonna cause a lot of family drama by doing so for awhile, maybe even permanently cause a bit of hatred among the brothers.

It kind of depends on the circumstances of the break up and the age difference between the siblings.

It's not wrong, although it does depend heavily on the situation and how the breakup happened. Some familes it would work out, others not so much.
07/15/2012
I have never done this and would never do it.
07/15/2012
Well, I wouldn't do it without my ex's blessing. I would just feel too bad if I caused strife in the family.
