as of 4/29/14, there is still little interest in the forum. most likely cuz there are very few long-time members now. it doesn't look like new people to the site are interested in it. are you interested in having the forum continue? this will be private voting in case some prefer not to be public w/ their answer. all those interested, feel free to leave a post.

I so miss all the forum activity. it was a great place to get educated as well as just have fun until pretty much everyone left last summer. I would really love to see it grow.

Of course! Just because I don't respond to all the threads doesn't mean I'm not interested in the forums.

I voted yes and other. Yes I want the forum to continue but can the bitching stop. That wasn't meant to be an insult to people but honest. I used the forum to select new toys to learn from people I called friends. Most of those friends are gone because of all the shit EF pulled, but it happened nearly a year ago and I'd like to think that those of us that stayed can move on and support a new group. Am I ever going to be as active as I was a year ago NO probably not, but that's on EF not me. I can honestly say that if the forum became a learning and teaching tool again I could totally see myself logging on more often but every post I open has someone complaining that they want the old EF back. THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN GET OVER IT! So yes I want the forum to stay but I wanted it to be used for what it's intended purposes were and not for a bitch fest

I participate when I can but I don't expect the forum to reach the activity it used to have. Keep in mind that EF isn't the only online forum around so if you want more activity or interest in a specific topic, looking elsewhere can help.

I'm not bitching. I was giving a time frame as well as stating what I have gained from the forum w/ the hope that it can grow despite changes made.

I would love for the forums to continue! I also second the sentiment that the bitching needs to stop. There are plenty of pre-existing threads in which that can be done in and in which things are explained for easy understanding for returning and new users.

EF kind of left us stranded. I really miss the way it used to be. It used to that if I were gone for more than a few hours, I would miss out on so much, but now I can be gone for a few days and not really miss anything.

I think most of us have similar sentiments as you, indiechick. Though, I might have missed all this bitching, because I haven't seen it. However, I am not on the forum as much, so it's possible I've simply missed it (you'll realize why later on). I don't think it's productive and yes, it does get annoying to hear constant complaining from those who should have dealt with this by now and realized, after almost a year, that things won't ever go back to how they used to be.

But I always try to remember that there are always newly returning members to whom everything is a shock. They are reacting as we all did when it was fresh, so I try to give them their time to process, just as it took us to process when it happened. With so many threads removed and lingering posted info from before the changes, not to mention little posted new rules and such, I think it's difficult for unfamiliar people to wade through and figure out what it was that happened and how things are now - what they can and can't do, etc.

I do think one of the unfortunate things about the way things used to be on the forum was that some new members felt judged and pounced on by longer-time members who were impatient with their questions and attempted to control what should be talked about by dismissing and sometimes belittling them. I felt this way and being dismissed or attacked is only going to drive away people. We don't own the forum. So, while I don't take issue with your pointing out your frustration, I also try not to get frustrated with others talking about things I might not like. So, I try to practice avoiding topics and people who I know will annoy me! I figure if we don't feed the trolls, they will starve and go off in search of greener pastures, lol!

@Edeneve, I don't think you sounded at all like you were bitching! besides, if it bothered me, I'd have just not replied

I am not saying you darling! Some people are really mean in the forums these days and after hitting a few of them it's hard to keep going

Let's be real here -- I don't want to sound negative, but I honestly do not expect the EF forum to thrive anytime soon. I'm just glad it managed to hold up amid all the chaos.

@indiechick: Uh oh, sounds like I definitely missed some stuff! That sounds really bad and I guess my strategy for avoidance works a little to well, lol! (Unless we are talking about the angry review woman! Those posts I definitely saw and 'dealt with'. )

@Rossie: Hahaha, true. I hope we can improve it though, so we can enjoy ourselves more!

yes ic, I agree. I know there are mean spirited as well as criticizing, negative, or downer people here. it's too bad they can't get on board w/ a more positive attitude.

I don't expect it to thrive. that's not realistic. but to grow, that's a possibility.

Thanks! I wanted to devolve into calling names and being sarcastic, but I restrained myself, so I am glad the effort paid off (and that I have you all fooled, hehehe, I'm really a total bitch! LOL! Well, okay, maybe not "out loud" )

I definitely would love to see the forum continue. I'm not active as I can be, and I'll admit, I miss the way the site used to be, but I've since moved on. What will come, will come. Though it seems I missed some drama, and some I was on for. When that happens I just turn a blind eye and go on my way. I don't get involved in that.

While I haven't been very active, I would love to see the forum continue. I sit quietly and still read whatever updates there are here. It is still very helpful to me too, as I go back to older posts/polls etc. if I need something answered with my relationships/toys and such. It's still very helpful and I would love for it to perhaps grow a little more with the newer members still joining the site each and every day.

I have met so many people here, and you've all been very kind to me, and I've enjoyed talking to some of you back and forth. Sure, EF isn't the same as it used to be, but what made it what it was, was the people, and these forums, and we certainly have had our good times, as well as a few bad here on these forums, and I would hate to see them fade out and be just another thing that changes here.

A total bitch....ummmm--now you are trying to fool people!! So, it looks like I missed a bit more conflict--whew! Finally I might have some of my timing right, lol!

I am thinking that the remaining members and new members are trying to continue the community feeling with the forum. A large jump in growth would be a bad thing, since we are expected to act appropriately without the moderators. However, with the enthusiasm and hard work of those on here--I do expect to see it continue in a more reasonable and friendly direction.

I will continue to contribute, and am back yet again after needing to take another short break to regroup and figure out a new direction yet again for my life.

Okay, got a few private messages mostly good a few catty, and I think people took me the wrong way. I unlike JS250, don't have good timing on forums apparently and always seem to come across some pretty horrible things, mostly a lot of complaining about "The old days" bitching that reviews aren't being edited fast enough (when I know many of us are doing several a day), or just general mean spiritedness. Upon further research I discovered that several of the postings that I considered bitchy were written by people who only bitch on forums, people who have no published reviews, and no friends or followers. I would love for the forum to continue but to anyone reading this one, I would appreciate it if you ask me in the future to clarify and not assume that I am being rude. Thank you

Ahhh, you have an excellent point about how many of the mean spirited posts are from members who have little if any other activity on the forum!! I know I've noticed this myself as I always check the profile of the person who writes something I either agree with, or really don't like!

And if what you said was considered rude, I just have to say, they should have seen the crap during the chaos, or even before that, just some of the ordinary posts from time to time during the past years! I didn't think your comment was rude; it was just you expressing your feelings about the subject and asking for it to stop. I don't think anyone's voice should be stifled just because people don't like what they're saying (as long as they do so in a civil manner and follow the TOS). I am always perplexed why people can't just agree to disagree, instead of trying to browbeat someone else into seeing things their way. And by browbeat, I definitely mean in an unkind, blustery way, not someone having a reasonable discussion about it. Indiechick, stick to your guns, toots!

Ugh, I'm so glad that no one ever sends me catty PMs. Maybe that's why I never understood what drama people were talking about from the 'old days' of the forum. I never got involved in the behind-the-scenes shit.

I think JS has a point, if we get too big of a swell in our population then things will totally go ka-blooey considering we have no moderation going on right now.

I hope it continues forever, actually.
I haven't been on much since a lot of people left (forums just aren't as active these days, it seems), but every now and then I find some discussion I want to partake in.

Life's been throwing a whole lot of stress at me lately so there's a lot of sites I haven't been to in ages...doesn't mean I like them any less. xD

We totally need moderators back, and they wouldnt be hard to get. Just PAY SOMEONE with gift cards to be used a whole value not 15% and have people who have been around the block at EF a few years go through posts randomly or whenever flagged and moderate. It could be a job you sign up for like editing, push reviews or mentoring and it could rotate

great idea 'ic'. I bet Wicked Whaine could come up w/ an idea or 2 on how this might work. she's an incredibly wonderful 'thinker'. I'm going to PM her about your comment.
