If you ever have to evacuate your home...for whatever reason (storm, chemical leak nearby, wildfires...etc), where do YOU go? Hotel in another city? Friends home? With other family? How long do you feel comfortable staying there?
I will admit...years ago, during the evacuation for hurricane Hugo, we had no where to go (especially with our two dogs), so we drove inland, till we found a nice Holiday Inn...that, despite the usual "no pets" policy at that location, welcomed us, our pets and dozens of others in a similar evacuation rush.
We had a wonderful week, there...with great hospitality shown to us by the entire town, and (snicker), with nothing better to do then walk our dogs and watch TV for a week...well...we made a baby in the process!!!
Where do YOU go in an evacuation, and what do YOU do to pass the time?
