If you had to hunt and kill your own meat would you do it ?

I couldn't. I'd never survive if we instated Darwinism for this reason. lol.

Nope! Too much work. I probably could have found a billions nuts, berries and roots in the time it took me to find, run after, kill, gut & clean, drag, cook and then eat the animal. Whew!
04/06/2013
I'm not sure. Maybe.

Well, I just eat fish and veggies. I've caught, cleaned and cooked plenty of fish over the years, as well as growing some of my own veggies.
If you eat beef, pork, or chicken (etc), you ARE most definitely killing cows, pigs and/or chickens (etc), even if it's not your hand actually doing the killing directly. Not wanting to be involved with that is one of the reasons I gave up meat.

Absolutely not, I am conflicted enough about eating animals & always have been! I know, without a doubt, that the most I could do would be to keep fowl & eat the eggs. I would not even be able to kill the fish! I can't stand to watch anything suffer, even a fish trying to breath out of water! (I can't even watch a spider starve to death inside the house in the winter!)

We go hunting every year got 5 deer this year, will last us most of the year.

If that was the only way my family would be able to eat, I most certainly would. I would struggle with it in some ways though. We raised chickens when I was young and had no problem eating the eggs, but I refused to eat the animals I had taken care of and raised.
I have no problem eating meat, and though it would be difficult at first, I think instinct would kick in and I would provide for my family.

yes, I would have no problem hunting my own food. also farming it and killing it.
04/06/2013
I don't think I could handle hunting my own food. I would find the easiest thing possible that I can eat.

I'd definitely eat less meat, that's for sure! & I'd get sick of wild turkey (the animal, not the bourbon!)

If I had no other way to feed my family. Yes, I would. Would I enjoy doing it? Heck no.

totally. Not hunting but I have almost caught one of these dang roosters that creep by my house and still their throat right there! If the only protein you can get is from meat and you got to do it yourself, do it!

Yeah I would, but thankfully we are not strict carnivores and not all my food resources need to be meat.

I think hunting and killing it would be hard enough, most women wouldn't know where to begin in that department, then even if you caught/killed an animal if you were too small you might not even be able to get it back to skin/dress it. (hence why a lot of animal hunting was done by men)

I'm not a good shot - but I'd learn to improve if that's what it takes - I'm no vegetarian.

Stalk it, kill it and skin it just before cooking the little (or big) bugger. ESPECIALLY if I had to feed my kids as well.

Except most of the best hunters are women...gutting and skinning is a skill anyone can learn regardless of sex. Usually dressing happens in the field to preserve the meat and make the carcass easier to carry. Anyone can lash a couple of poles together and make a travois to sort of slide the large carcass back home...

i have and will continue to hunt and fish for meat to feed my family. it is the most natural, highest quality food i can feed them.
04/06/2013
hell no.
04/06/2013
I have like zero survival skills, so if I had to hunt or find my own food I'd be in big trouble.
04/06/2013
For survival purposes, of course I would.
04/07/2013
If I absolutely had to in order to survive I could. Otherwise I'd just become a vegetarian.
04/07/2013
I would go fishing and maybe raise some chickens for eggs, but I wouldn't kill a mammal.
04/07/2013
If that is what it takes to live. Oh yes. I would do it.
04/07/2013
I don't know, that depends. My plan would be to gather vegetation or look for eggs to eat. If there are no edible plants or eggs, then I would resort to fishing. If no fish, then I would have a go at hunting. If vegetation, eggs, fish, or animals aren't around and only insects...I couldn't eat them. I would rather eat sand and die.
04/07/2013
I would give up meat before I could do that. I could fish and catch seafood though. Just couldn't hunt and kill land animals myself.
I'm not that attached to meat anyways.

I don't eat meat anyways, so probably not. Unless I didn't have any other form of food available to me/ needed it for nutrition.
04/07/2013
If I absolutely had to I think I could.
