If you can live in a certain period

If you can choose anytime to live in, what time period would you choose?

I watch Midnight in Paris a couple of months ago, and it made me wonder what time would people love to go back to.

I'd love to be my current age during the cold war; it's the science fiction fan in me! The era was so hopeful, everyone had such awesome ideas and there were no limits to what we could achieve.

Well I would kind of like to live back when things were a little more conservative, but then again those were also the days when women were treated like dirt so I'll stick with these days or the 90's. Oh yes, the 90's! It's such a comforting time for me, I guess because I grew up in the 90's and childhood is a comforting time to remember. Things looked so different then! Lol. And who can resist Nirvana and Hanson! NOT ME SAYS I! I love em' Anyways, my aunt always says she'd love to live in the 1800's I've no clue why she's so obsessed with those times, but when our group goes out for a ghost trip or to check on a haunted house for an owner, she ALWAYS manages to send us to one with an 1800's history. Lol. We've been doing the 1800's all summer and her and my mom are actually on a trip right now doing the whole ghosts in the 1800's and earlier thing and this is their 3rd trip in 2 months! Whew, no 1800's for me!

I'm really into Roman history, so I would love to be during that era. Or possibly the Renaissance. I love both. However, to agree with the statement above, I probably would not be able to handle the oppression of women. I'm definitely a very bold & stubborn person....having a guy control me (esp when I'm a lesbian) would SO not work. But a girl can have her own dream where everything works perfectly anyway...

I used to think it would be cool to live in the 1800's. I did some work on The Vampire Diaries when they shot their Civil War flashback episode. They brought in authentic corsets and petticoats and dresses from the time period. It took me 3 hours to get thru wardrobe, hair and makeup. I wore the corset cinched like it would have been back then with 30 pounds of petticoats and gowns on top for 16 hour days. I have totally changed my mind about living back then. I have no idea how those women survived in all those restricting cumbersome clothes!! It was exhausting!!

I would love to have lived in the 40's after the war.

I think either the 1920's and on or to be a teenager in the 1960's. To see the Women's Movement come to fruition or to be a part of such political unrest would have been extraordinary.

I'd like to go back to Edwardian England. Or perhaps the time period where burroke music was all the rage.
If not please take me back to when the Marquis DeSade was running a muck.

Considering nearly every period, in every society, has sucked tremendously for women, I'd rather just live now.. or possibly the future.

I think any time before about 1950 would be terrifying. I'll stay in the present thank you.

I'm so dependent on technology and really don't have that many skills that would have been useful in the past. I'm sure it would be very hard to adapt too. I guess if I grew up with it, I'd be fine but if I were to be transported back into the past it would be awful.

Realistically, the 60's.

Fantastically.... the Renaissance.

Either that or pre-history in some pagan earth mother culture.

Can I hop forward some? I love tech, and I like convenience, so going backward wouldn't fit me too well.
