If there was no limit to how many pets you could have, no financial limits, no landlord-imposed limits, no limits caused by not having the proper facilities or licenses, how many pets would you have, and what kinds?

I would still only have what I can manage. I don't buy animals for one thing, and I don't adopt animals for the sheer hell of it, but for companionship and to provide a good environment. Crowding isn't good for anyone.
I usually just have one rabbit and one cat.

Only as many as I could give a reasonable amount of attention to and take care of.

The same here, I wouldn't have more pets than I could reasonably divide time and affection between.

i'd either have 2 cats or 2 dogs. i don't really want more than 2 maybe 3 pets at a time.

I really want more than one, but I won't have the extra energy to take care of it, there's so much work for even just one poodle.

I have 2 right now, and there's no way I could handle more than that. I have taken care of friends' pets while they are away and having that extra pet plus the 2 dogs I already have is way too much for me. sometimes even the two I have is a lot to deal with. I think once my older dog passes on, I won't ever get a 2nd dog ever again. It's a lot to manage with all of the vacuuming i have to do.

I'm a cat person. We currently have none (my cat died a few years ago). We'll get another one, but the most I'd have is two.

If i had the space I'd be a regular fluttershy. Cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits, and countless others.

I'd still only have the one, and that'd probably be a dog.

5 dogs would be my limit. I enjoy watching them interact with each other. A pack of dogs can tell you a lot.

I'd be the same (no chickens though)

If I had unlimited space, time, energy and resources to provide a proper environment, proper care and so forth - I would have a ton of animals. Dogs, cats, birds, horses, chickens, degus, chinchillas... the list just goes on and on and on. I love animals.

I wouldn't have any, LOL. I'm not really an animal person to be honest...

I'd probably just stick with what I have now. I kind of want a hamster or gerbil, but my two cats and fish are more than enough to take care of as it is.

Maybe one or two dogs, as long as I had space for them to run around and play, and more flexible hours to take care of them. Right now I don't have the time/money to adopt.

But I don't want a whole horde of creatures. As much fun as it might be to have a ton of critters, I have a tendency to be lazy and have trouble keeping schedules. I think I might just keep my current cat, get that rabbit I've been wanting, and maybe a snake.

I would have the same amount i do now-Seven.

We have 10 guinea pigs and a dog. We used to have 2 ferrets as well but they both passed on. I'm kinda hanging on attrition, but I'd not get rid of any of them and all of them are rescues.

I would have the same I have now, one dog.
