I have an mp3 player with a built-in radio, video player, and photo storage. It's fine for my needs.

I have an Ipod and an Iphone. I am so used to them that I wouldn't change them now.

It does matter. The quality of your device will affect the audio quality of your music.

I don't say this to support Apple- I say it as a reason why I will never use one of their products.

In '06 my parents bought me an iPod as a combination graduation gift from high school and dental school which I graduated from 2 months apart, so I only got 1 gift but I got to choose. I wanted an iPod SOOOOOOOOOOO badly!

I still have the cracked-screened constantly dying little bastard, and I listen to it still! More often, though, I'll just hook my Android phone up to my headphones or the audio cable in my car, rather than use the iPod.

I do want some type of MP3 player, though! I don't think I'd get another iPod just because of the cost.
