I need to brag....what an accomplishment this weekend!!

Contributor: js250 js250
I was an avid competitor and dirt bike rider prior to being injured in a car accident. I was finally able to ride over the weekend, but did not have much hope for my abilities.

However.....I DID IT!! I was able to go out for 4 hours, ride level 3 trails and did not crash once!! I am so dang sore, every muscle in my body absolutely aches, but my sense of pride and accomplishment is so immense I had to share.

I realize not many of you share my interest, but you also have accomplishments of your own. I would really like to share them as well!! Let us know your accomplishments and we can all celebrate them together.

Oh, congrats, honey!!! That is so awesome! After having lived in the area, I know how dangerous the terrain can get.

Take an epsom salt bath with some lavender oil to help with the soreness.

Great job js250! I totally understand how easy it can be to take things like your favorite passtimebey eing offered mon (like dirt biking) for granted, and then when you injure yourself, really realizing how many muscles went into play there.

So glad you were able to enjoy it again! Woohoo!

For my accomplishments, I just got offered a random contract to improve somebody's software efficiency! I am really psyched, being offered $ to do something that I would have done just for fun and experience feels great

Congratulations!!! That's wonderful news!

I don't have any recent accomplishments that are brag-worthy. But, I'm excited for those that do!

I will be taking my third Epsom bath after work...lol! The lavender sounds like a great addition, though...will try it!

Dang it! I must have pressed on my trackpad at a bad time, and inserted half a sentence where it didn't belong...

Very cool! Nothing like getting back into something you love.

I am currently working to get my sewing business back going. I have a few jobs lined up, just need to work on a work space for it. I can do small projects but the money is not the best for those. Hopefully I can get some leather work as that is one thing I miss the most.

I should have you fix my purse!

So Tim... do you make leather harnesses?

Kudos!
You know, until I was about 12, I did a lot of sports. Then I injured myself and didn't do anymore! Some I could still do, others I can't because I did a grow spurt while recovering and it did something to my legs' tendons, but the point is those I could still do I lack the guts to do and don't feel like doing anymore.
Though, today, I did a few studying which I lack the confidence to do habitually, but I keep pushing myself to every week and notice I don't suck that much at it
Hey, think of massaging yourself for the soreness. I do sort-of improvised massages on my legs when they hurt from too much walking, not necessarily a professional thing but moving my palms in circles around the muscles and it helps.

I could. If say you sent me a harness to copy I could make a new one with any changes you would like. The hard part is the sizing/fit so as long as I have something to go off of it would be a piece of cake. One problem for me is getting the leather as there are no shops close by that sell it. I would either have to drive to Green Bay or order it online (Something I am hesitant to do). It maybe easier for you to find the leather you like and send it to me.

And yes, I can fix your purse as well. That's actually part of what I did at my first job at a shoe repair shop.

Thank you, the massages helped my shoulders...the area that was really damaged. I know what you mean, while I was really looking forward to riding, I was seriously dreading the actual getting on the bike and failing. It didn't help that I sold my smaller bikes after buying this one, either.

Congrats on the studying!! I am very proud of you, that is a very hard habit to get into. When you take baby steps and get back what you feel you have lost, the feeling of accomplishment is amazing..isn't it!! Great job and thanks for the advice, that really helped. I hope your legs will improve with time and sorry you have to go through that!

That's fantastic, and so inspiring. I have bad knees and a weak back at the moment, and I've wondered if I'd ever be able to cycle or jog (that one is probably off the list) the way that I used to. It's all about the gradual build up I guess. So thanks for this and congrats!

What a great feeling! I'm so glad you were able to do that. Even though you're sore it's still a big VICTORY (as my aunt calls anything like that when you want to accomplish something and then DO IT)! Those kinds of things are soooo important for your spirit. Way to go!
