So, ladies I need some input! I am looking to get a new smartphone, I've never had one before, but I'm getting to the point that I think I need one. I'm on the internet all the time and it would sure help to have one to get on. Anyways, I'm looking at a couple

My first choice is the Apple Iphone (I've been wanting this since it came out, but now am able to really get it)

My second choice is the HTC EVO, or Aria ( because I want the Iphone so bad, this is the only reason it's my second)

My third choice is the Motorola Backflip.

I want something that will work for the next 2 years because I need it to! I also want something that will work with texting easily and something that works well on the internet (cafemom to be one).

If anyone has any of these phones can you please explain why or why not you like it? Thanks!

I was eyeing the Apple iPhone myself as I want an iPod Touch which is basically the same with the new one that just came out.... until I saw the phone plan. I can't afford 60 bucks or more a month for a 2 year plan, sorry. And with Sprint? (I think it's Sprint.) No thanks, I really do like Verizon way more.

I have a love/hate relationship with my phone, lol. I think it's the... Intensity? Slide phone with a keypad for texting, but I have no web on it. Can't afford it and I'm hardly out and about anyway so I don't really need it. But it keeps unlocking itself despite me having it in a protective leather case and everything. And then i end up pocket dialing. Wish I had gone with a regular flip phone, less hassle.

I don't have any of those phones. I have the T-mobile My Touch, which is an Android based phone.

My guess is that in general, any smart phone will meet your needs. What I would suggest is that you base your decision on the type of service each carrier offers where you live. It's more important to have good service than a better phone. If you don't have good network access, the phone is useless. AT&T is crap where I live so iPhone is not an option for me.

In selecting a phone, things I would consider somewhat important are the keyboard type (virtual vs real). Virtual keyboards do take some getting used to, and if you plan on texting/typing a lot, a real keyboard will be easier.

The other important feature would be screen size. Again, if you plan on web browsing a lot, you probably want a decent sized screen for easier viewing. I think most women keep their phones in their purses, so in general size is not a huge issue. I carry my phone in my pocket, so I chose a relatively smaller phone.

Hope that helps.

So, AT&T is your carrier, right?

I L-O-V-E my Iphone. I just upgraded to an Iphone 4 and it's awesome. My husband has been eyeballing my phone. I think when he gets home from Iraq he is going to get himself an Iphone.

Yep, and I think I'm going to get the Samsung Captivate, at least that's what I'm leaning toward now.

I have AT&T, too! Samsung is a really great brand, and the quality of their phones is awesome. I had a Samsung Blackjack II. It lasted me 3 years and only broke when I dropped it from 5 feet up in the air onto cement. It was tragic.

Really, I think Samsung's a great choice.

I have an iPhone 3G. I like it but would love my Samsung back. However, I am addicted to the wifi capability of the iPhone since I don't have a data package.

And I have been lusting over an HTC phone for about a year now. Nifty things! Just never owned one, so I'm not very sure about the performance.

If you have any other questions, let me know

I'd with the iPhone for the interface. It's the same as on the iTouch, and it's by far the best I've used if you're going to use the phone for more than calling or texting.
