it's at link totally free....no ones going to find it unless I give out the direct link to it I doubt anyone I know is even on that site let alone sitting on there reading stranger's diary...As long as I don't give out my adress or anyone's email would it be a good idea? Lots of people have a public diary on there....I do want feedback its my "private" diary ppl are reading I don't want people to complain or get too personal with my thoughts and feelings when they leave feedback like say oh i'm tired of hearing this or that because its what I want to write in my diary...u know what I mean? Its like me reading your diary and saying "oh then why don't u do this or that or I can't belive you" just comments about ya I read it it was boring or its entertaining kind of general comments...ya I suppose I could ignore comments like your "stupid why did you say that" kind of stuff
I have an online diary I can make it public and recieve feedback from anyone,Should I make it public?

No offence, but do you REALLY crave that much attention?
Do you want to allow strangers the ability to judge you based on the intimate details of your life?
Do you not have friends who you would RATHER confide in?

its not really about attention. I think feedback would keep me writing in it more regulalry...I even get an alert someone commented then I get reminded I even have a diary...anyway I will wait for more comments and votes on this...maybe I would have a select few people I would let read it...

Negative feedback and the internet is like water being wet, it's inevitable. If you can't handle it, don't do it.
Diaries are private and usually only interesting if you're famous and dead. Blogs are informative, entertaining insights into the every day crap we all go through, usually with an anecdote and an epiphony thrown in for good measure. The blog has to be well written with punctuation and grammar rules applied appropriately with content that people actually want to read.
I never read blogs that are about people just dumping their problems on the laps of the internet community. They're boring. They're repetitive. The user usually asks for advice then completely ignores it, only to post an entry two days later asking for the very same thing again.

SMOKING IS RETARDED! Tracy's smoker's cough is so bad when he is
standing outside smoking on the porch his hacking wakes me up. I
actually try to chose if my moms or his annoys me more. I love my
mom I hate to see her do that and it really upsets my dad she does

smoke. Its something that makes me really angry

You are aware that people will probably take excerpts from your diary and post them elsewhere to mock you over right? Because that is pretty much inevitable when people post personal shit online. Diaries are supposed to be private. NOT PUBLIC. Thats why they come with locks.

If it is something you would really like to do, I suggest taking creative writing classes and scour other online blogs to get a feel for how they work.
I had a journal with a readership of about 20-something people. None of them were my friends, I had never met them in real life. They commented maybe one out of ten posts and it was usually something assanine like "I hope you feel better". Ooooh thanks for the input! *eye roll*

Once it's out there you can't ever take it back. I wouldn't think it's worth the risk.

I agree.
Blogs vs. Diaries.
I write daily things in my blog, little things I notice, anime reviews and sometimes about minor things I don't care about.
My diary is private, cause it's where I pour out deeper feelings and those are for me, and me alone.
Keep it private unless you want criticism.

I am one of those traditional people who opt for the real journal with which you can use a pen. Nothing beats, seating down on my couch with a cup of tea, relaxing music and my diary on my lap with my thoughst ust rolling in and out.

Things like this have a way of getting out. Someone is bound to "find out" it's you, and heaven knows, some people will use things against others.
IMO, (as an adult and a parent) I'd say "NO!" don't do it. Even blogs have criticism and it takes a tough skin to keep one well.
Also, if something got back to employers, friends, lovers, parents, whoever, it not be what you want. IMO, things like Facebook and MySpace and Twitter are enough, no reason to make things easier for people to diss you.

I agree so much with what everyone else has said.
If your goal is to work on your writing, take a class. Having the masses tear into your diary is not going to help you. The majority of them won't have anything constructive to say anyway.
If you're really that curious about how the trolls on the internet feel about your opinions; start a blog. Diaries are for you. I know mine (it's over 500 pages that I've been keeping since I was 17) has stuff that is terribly written that no one would care about, but that's OK, it's for me.
Also, once you put something on the internet, it's there forever. That excerpt above that you posted: immortalized. Do you really want that to happen to your most intimate thoughts and most judgmental feelings?

Personally, it reminded me of things I would write in my diary when I was 13. My journaling is much deeper and introspective of my relationships with others and my feelings about myself and towards them. Probably a little narcissistic, but no one ever sees it, so I guess it's okay to be narcissistic when you're privately discussing yourself with yourself.

I suppose if some famous person hits my car and kills me someone might be interested in reading it, but probably not.
You know, you should try thinking about the people in your life like you may never see them again. You never know what might happen in your life and the last thing you want to do is have regrets that someone might never know how you feel about them. Stop thinking about how everyone "wrongs" you and start thinking about your family members as people with their own passions and personalities and needs.

I think you should take a writing class at your local community college; you can do it online. You can also join an online writing community dedicated to helping people learn to become more skilled writers. You can focus on fiction, non-fiction, or just spiff up your style and find your own voice. Writing is not easy, it takes a lot of time, dedication and learning to take constructive criticism, especially if you have no background or experience in it.
