I have a new puppy!! And wouldn't you know.....

We had to put our 'younger' Shi Tzu to sleep on Tuesday, she just gave up living at 17. Our Pomeranian was so dependent on her that we talked about getting another Pom puppy to 'keep her company'. Otherwise she would be freaked out at home alone. Well....there were these Shi Tzu puppies outside the grocery store today, one looked like our old girl and...YEP!! Our Pom loved it and is mommied up to her right now. Of course, we won't talk about my cuddles or my hubbies either, lol!! So sad, she reminds us of our girl, but so happy--a new start.

I'm sorry that you had to put your Shi Tzu down. I'm glad that you were able to find another loveable pet that your Pomeranian (sp?) loves! It should make the adjustments so much easier.

Sorry the old dear finally had to be sent to sleep. At least her successor showed up in time to fill the gap. I hope you're doing all right.

I'm sorry . We had to put my guy down two years ago after he had a stroke. The vet suspected cancer too. He was 16. It was the hardest thing I've done so far, I still want to cry if I think about being there in that room. I haven't got another dog yet but want to some day.
That's great that your puppy took to the new dog .

Yay congrats! I'm glad your dog took to the puppy. Pomeranians are so cute, I keep thinking of getting one also.

Thanks, guys!! I am just so surprised we got a puppy!! We wanted to get our Pom a new friend, but never thought it would be another Shi Tzu!! Or that it would look just like our old girl. And she is house trained already--took her out twice and she went, none in the house either!! Maybe our old girl is looking our for all of us??

We recently put down one (of two) of our dogs, and have talked about getting another for the dog that we still have to keep company, because he's a very social dog.

We decided against it until one of us has a steady job, simply because we couldn't afford another mouth.

I'm glad, though, that you found a new puppy.

The one's we love go away, but new loves appear — not as replacements but as bridges to the future.
